Also it will be observed that the products of combustion are thoroughly utilized by the tortuous route they are caused to travel through the drum, angular pipe, 850., and back into the combustion-chamber previous to delivery, while the draft supplied to the stove may be varied according to the requirements of the case.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1'. In an attachment of the character described, a drum adapted to be applied to a heater or fuel-burner, a pipe-section adapted to return the products of combustion to said heater or fuel-burner, a sliding pipe-section having a terminal adapted to engage the outlet end of said pipe-section and said drum at its upper end, and means for actuating said sliding pipe-section.
2. In an attachment of the character described, a drum'adapted to be applied to a heater or fuel-burner, inclosing an angular pipe-section adapted to return the products of combustion to said heater or fuel-burner having pipe connection with said heater or necting with the upper part of said drum,
and a sliding pipe-section having a conical terminal adapted to engage the outlet end of said angular pipe-section and provided with an annular flared flange at its upper edge adapted to engage said conical portion of said drum.
4. In an attachment of the character described, a drum adapted to be applied to a heater or fuel-burner, an angular pipe-section arranged Within said drum having pipe attachment with said heater or fuel-burner, below the fire-grate, and provided at its upper end with a flared terminal portion, a sliding pipe-section having a lower conical portion adapted to engage said flared outlet end of said angular pipe-section, and provided with an annularflared flange atits upper edge, adapted to engage said drumat its upper end, and means for effecting the movement or adjustment of said sliding pipe-section.
5. In an attachment of the character described, a drum adapted to be applied to a heater or fuel-burner having an upper conical portion connected to the smoke-exit and having at its lower end, laterally of its center, means for effecting pipe connection with said heater or fuel-burner, an angular pipesection arranged within said drum, having a downward pipe extension for connection-with said heater or fuel-burner, below the firegrate, the upper end of said angular pipesection having a flared outlet, a return pipesection depending within said drum, a sliding pipe-section arranged upon said return pipe-section, provided with a conical terminal at its lower end adapted to engage said flared outlet of said angular pipe-section, and means for actuating said sliding pipe-section.
6. In an attachment of the character described, a drum adapted to be applied to a heater or fuel-burner, having its upper conical portion connected to the smoke-exit and having at its lower end, laterally of its center, pipe connection with said heater or fuelburner, a draftpipe arranged externally of said drum and having an elbow or return pipe-section depending Within said drum, a sliding pipe-section arranged upon said return pipe-section and having a conical terminal at its lower end, means for actuating said sliding pipe-section, an angular pipe-section arranged within said drum, having an upper flared outlet adapted to receive said conical terminal of said sliding pipe-section, said sliding pipe-section'also having an annular flared flange adapted to engagethe upper portion of said drum, said angular pipe-section having pipe connect-ion with said heater or fuel-burner, below the fire-grate.
7. In an attachment of the character described, a drum having at its lower end, laterally of the center, pipe connection with a heater or fuel-burner, the upper end of said drum having a conical extension connected to the smoke-exit pipe, a draft-pipe arranged externally of said drum and having a return pipe-section extending into said smoke-exit pipe, with its depending portion entering said drum, a sliding pipe-section arranged upon said depending portion of said return pipe-section, means for adjusting or moving said sliding pipe-section, comprising a lever having a pawl, an angular pipe-see tion arranged within said drum having at its upper end a flared outlet adapted to receive the conical terminal of said sliding pipe-section, said conical terminal having an annular flared flange at its upper edge adapted to engage the upper edge of said drum, said angular pipe-section having pipe connection with said heater or fuel-burner,below the fii'egi'aie.
8. In an attachment of the character described, a drum adapted to be applied to a heater or fuel-burner, and containing an angular pipe-section adapted to return the products ofioomloustion to said heater or fuelburner, a sliding pipe-section adapted to engage the outlet end of said angular pipesection, and means for actuating said sliding
