Description
. Patented Dec. I6, I902. A. SCHOELER. SWIVELING TRUMPET FUR TELEPHONES. (Application filed Apr. 7, 1902.) (No Modal.)
UNITED STATES ARTHUR SCHOELER, OF
PATENT OFFICE.
ELBERFELD, GERMANY.
SWIVELING TRUMPET FOR TELEPHONES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 715,878, dated December 16, 1902.
Application filed April '7, 1902.
To all whmn it may concern:
Be .it known that I, ARTHUR SOHOELER, merchant, a subject of the King of Prussia, German Emperor, residing at Elberfeld,in the Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire, have invented new and useful Improvements in Swiveling Trumpets for Telephones, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a swiveling trumpet for telephones; and the improvement consists in certain arrangements and combinations of parts, as are describedhereinafter and represented in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a front view, and Fig. 2 a longitudinal section view.
The advantage of this trumpet is that it may be adjusted on any height for the mouth.
The construction 'of the swiveling trumpet is as follows: The clamp a is turned on the inside and can be attached to the telephonecasing by means of the four screws b. On the other side the clamp a is provided with a recess for receiving an annular spring 0 of a V-section. The trumpet d is provided with a flange e, which is placed on the spring 0 into the said recess of the clamp and held by a Serial No. 101,829. (No model.)
flange f. The latter fits loosely on the flange e andis secured on the clamp a by, say, four screws g. On screwing home these screws the flange f will press the flange 6 against the yielding spring 0, whereby the trumpet will be secured in its position into which it has been turned and will be prevented from turning downward, owing to its weight.
Having now described my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is- The combination with an annular clamp having a plurality of set-screws for securing it to a telephone-casing, of a swiveling bent trumpet having a flange, an annular spring arranged to bear against said clamp, and an annular disk secured to said clamp by adjustable screws for pressing said flange of said trumpet against said spring so as to secure y friction said trumpet in any position, substantially as set forth.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two witnesses.
ARTHUR SCHOELER. Witnesses:
OTTO KoNIG, J. A. RITTERSHAUS.
