HULLING CLOVER-SEED.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 7,104, dated February 19, 1850.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOSEPH PoLLooK, of Richmond, in the county of Wayne and State of. Indiana, have invented a new and useful Machine for Hulling and Cleaning Glover; and I do hereby declare that the fol lowing is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and ope-ration of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making apart of the specification, in which LettersP P is a frame; B, a fan; F, a driven universal joint; H, a bevel wheel on a horizontal shaft, which works into its pinion and is fastened near the lower end of a perpendicular shaft or spindle which is attached to the huller Q giving it a rotary motion.
S, S, is a stationary huller which is fastened down to frame and has a hopper or receiver a, in its center. This huller s s is a dish or elevation from its circumference to the proper place of encircling the hop per within the excavation in its dish. These excavations should be made in such angles as to draw the chaff toward the circumference. Huller Q is flat, but has an elevation in its center, commencing with the circumference of the aperture of the one stationary and elevated toward its center, this elevation has ledges fastened down edgewise from the center to the circumference in such an angle as to force the chafl into the channels of huller S, S, which may be more easily understood by looking at Fig. 2.
