Be it known that 1, JOHN H; MoRRfsoN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kingsbridge, in the county of New York and State of NewYork, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Skate Clamps, of which the following is a full and complete specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

The object of this invention is to provide an improved clamp for holding skates in the operation of grinding or sharpening the same and with this and other objects in viewthe invention consists in a device of the class specified constructed as hereinafter described and claimed.

- The table 71. and stone is are only shown for the purpose of indicating the operation of the device and the object of making the clamp in the manner described, and any suitable support may be substituted for said table. .It will be understood, of course, that the clamp is moved back and forth across the table, so as to grind the entire bottom portion of the runner of a skate, and my invention is not limited to the table or support, as it is .possible to operate the device without any other support than thesupport of the stone.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, anddesire tose'cure by Letters Patent, is-

A device of the class described comprising a base,vertical screws near the opposite ends thereof, each of which is provided with two set-nuts and two clamping-bars mounted on said screws between said nuts, substan @memb'ers connected therewith, two verticallyinovable clamping-bars mounted on said end members, and two nuts mounted-on each of said end members above and below said bars, whereby the vertical position of said bars Witnesses:
