SCISSORS SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 683,231, dated September 24, 1901.
Application filed July 8, 1901. Serial No. 671409. (No model.)
To all whom; it may concern:
Be it known that I, OUNo STAMM, a citizen of Germany, and a resident of Ohligs, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Scissors, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improvement in scissors, pliers, and similar instruments more particularly adapted for surgical use and so constructed that the blades may be readily separated for thorough cleaning.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a face view of my improved scissors; Fig. 2, an end view of blade a; Fig. 3, an end View of blade I), and Fig. 4, a face view of blade 17.
The blades a and b, carrying the usual handles, are connected by the pivot c, which is rigidly connected to blade a and passes loosely through a perforation b of blade I). The blade I) is provided with a pin (1, having a head of round, square, or other shape and engaging a slot a of blade at, which is concentric to pivot c. When the scissors are open, the blade I) may be readily lifted off to blade at, and passing loosely through blade b, and a pin 01, connected to blade I), and en tering a slot in blade at, when the blades are closed, substantially as specified.
