To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOSEPHINE A. FAYART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Springfield, in the county of Sangamon and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Blouse Garments, of which the following is such a full, clear, and exact description as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use my said invention.

My invention relates to garments of that class usually made of wash fabrics for chil drens wear; and the purposes of my invention are to provide a waist and a securing device therefor so constructed and arranged asto avoid gaping of the garment, so con-- structed and arranged that the securing device may be easily withdrawn for laundering the garment and may be readily replaced atter the garment is laundered, so constructed and arranged that the garment will readily adapt itself to the person of the wearer, and

. so constructed and arranged that after the band is once adjusted to the wearer the garment may be put on or taken 0% without disturbing the connections of the band with the garment.

With these ends in view my invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations of parts shown in the annexed drawings, to which reference is hereby made, and hereinafter particularly described, and pointed out in the claim.

Referring to the drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation of a blouse-garment embodyingmy improvements. For the purpose of illustrating my invention I have shown a garment of which the general structure is well known, and I will now-describe my modifications and improvements as applied thereto.

At the lower extremity of the garment the fabric is turned inward and upward andstitohed so as to form a casing at, extending entirely around the lower extremity of the garment. The fore parts of the garment overlap, as clearly shown in Figs. 1, 4, and 5. Buttons B are secured to one fore part and fit in buttonholes in theother fore part. On the inner side of the fore parts buttons B are secured, one on each fore part. side of each fore part is a slit at, opening into the casing a.
