Be it known that I, LEO J. BURDICK, acitizen of the United States, residing at the city of Sturgis, in the county of St. Joseph and State of Michigan, have invented a certain new and useful Display-Rack for Neckties, of which the following is a specification.

IWIy invention relates to necktie racks or stands or to necktie-supports for display purposes.

The invention is applicable to boxes for shipping neckties and to boxes for displaying neckties.

The objects of this invention are to provide a necktie rack or support in which the ties can be piled in a perfectly-secure manner, so that they can be easily withdrawn for examination and replaced and at the saine time clearly exhibit all of the qualities of the ties exposed for sale in the rack.

Further objects will appear definitely in the detailed description.

I accomplish these objects of my invention by the devices and means described in the following specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of one of my improved display-racks for neckties shown without any ties placed upon it. In the drawings similar letters of reference refer to similar parts throughout the several views.

Referring to the lettered parts of the drawings, A A represent a platform or main supporting base or bottom, which extends to the front of the stand or holder and affords a support upon which the goods can rest. C is the handle to the back of the same. Extending upwardly from the base just forward of the handle is a triangularformed portion B, which has its apex pointing upward. Extending up from each side of the same are arms D D to form spaces between the same and the triangular portion B at D', and it is Serial No. 608,877. (No model.)

dle is extended forwardly in a suitable scroll or folded at A to form the platform base or bottom upon which the ties rest. The portion B is formed of aseparate piece of metal, which extends down and joins with the portion A at the joint E, as indicated before, and then extends laterally and then upwardly at D at the sides of the portion B at D D, leaving spaces D D to receive the ties.

Having explained in detail the manner of forming my improved necktie-display rack, I desire to state that the construction can be very greatly varied in its details without departing from my invention.

The construction I have produced is very simple and requires-only a folding of parts without any riveting except at the point between the parts A A, where a single rivet ct is applied. I have heretofore constructed the device of folded wire. I have had the parts constituting the triangle B and the arms D made up separate and separate from the base of other material. The handle C is of very great convenience, though it could be dispensed with without greatly injuring the device. In placing the ties in this improved necktie-holder they are laid' first on one side and then on the other successively and their edges lapped over each other and piled up somewhat in the form of a pyramid in the center, the bottom ties extending out to each side and the next one lapping onto the same and so on up to the top, so that the material of which any tie in the lot is constructed is fully exhibited and can be easily inspected. When any particular tie is desired, it is drawn out at the back and exhibited individually and can then be replaced at the top and the ties will descend at either side to take up the vacancy. When the ties ICO are laid in this way, they serve as a support to each other and the whole bundle or pile of the ties can be handled without disarranging the same or spoiling the effectiveness of the,

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure byLetters Patent, is- Y 1. In a neclctie-displayer the combination; of the bottom or base portion A, `with a triangular portion B, extending upwardly at the rear with arms D, substantially parallel thereto, at each side, and a handle C, secured to the base or bottoni portion and extending rearwardly from near the center of the iriangle portion B, all united to form a convenient support for the tie as specified.

2. In a necktie-supporter the combination of a platform-support for the ties, a triangu` `lar piece extending upwardly therefrom and parallel arms to each side of the `triangle to afford a support for ties piled successively on either side and overlapping each other toward the front as specified.

5. A necktie-display rack or support consisting of a base or bott-om portion, an upwardly-extending A-shaped support to the rear thereof, and. suitable means of retaining the ties on the sides of the support as specified;
