To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, AUSTIN FULLER, of-
Plymouth, in the county of Marshall and State of Indiana7 have invented a new and useful Improvement in Apparatus for Loading Hay onto Wagons; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing, made part of this specifica; tion.
A represents the frame for supporting the hay-ladders of an ordinary wagon. Above and below theladders I attach cross-timbers Band B', extending beyond the ladders on each side, and having holes near the end to receive the derrick C, the base of which is rounded, so that it may turh freely, resting, either by a shoulder on the cross-timber B', or upon. a step on B, on one side, and on the other end a post, D. A guy, I, extends from the top ofthe derrck to the top of the post D. l
Onto the perpendicular timber of the derrick C are adj ustably attached lugs G, sustaining a windlass, N. Arope, F, attached to the axle of the windlass, is carried over a pulley set in the upper part of the derrick, and is thence carried overa pulley in the arm of the derrick and through the block E and attached to the end of the arm, or otherwise conven iently arranged,so as to give whatever multiplication of power may be necessary to secure the desired end.

The hereinbefore-described arrangementof a hay-loader, consisting of a derrick, O, mounted upon the center of one side of the rack and sustained by the transverse timbers B and B', so as to turn freely in all directions, and by a guy, I, attached to a post, D, upon the opposite end of the timbers, and restrained from turning by another guy, H, substantially as described In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
