le it known that LFELL( TRAMHLAY, ot Chicago, 1n the county of Cool: and State of Illinois, have invented certain new vand usefui improvements in Holding-Clips for Box- Files; and Edo hereby declare that the following' Iis a fnll, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, end to the letters of refer-V ence marked thereon, which form a part of this specication.

This invention relates to improvements in file cases or boxes fornse in filing letters7 bills, &c., of that clase wherein the papers are died between indexed leaves held within the box or oase by means of a suitable holding device in the form of a straight strip or bar engaging the index-leaves, and with which the latter. have sliding engagement.

The invention `relates more specifically to improvements in theconstrnction of the said holding strip or hanhy which the indexsheet's nre held Within the tiling box or ense, whereby the cost of manufacture is reduced and at the same time an article produced having superior features of utility and convenience. The holding strip or bar herein shown is particularly designed for'nse in box-binders, or

As will appear from the description, however, the holding` device Ais not permanently secured in place, and may, therefore, if necessary, be removed; hut, as before stated, is especially designed for use in a permanent flic.

The object of the invention is to provide an improved construction in devices of the charactor referred to; :ind the invention consists in the matters hereinafter described, and more particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

As hereins before stated, the assembling of the clip within the tile may also be accomplished at a miui mum cost, and no amount of rough usage of the file will cause the points of the clip to worlc through the sides of the binder.
