As shown, the head g of the clamping bolt G is cut away on its sides to conform to the lower convex surfaces of said flanges f2 which border the T-groove F so that said head bears broadly against said surfaces and is adapted to hold firmly without slipping. It will be observed that the clam ping bolt G is arranged to protrude through the more elevated surface a2 of the upper part A of the support where it is at all times accessible and permits of the clamp being tightened after the adjustment has been effected beneath the pressure of the roller die D.
Other forms of means for clamping the parts or for holding them in the selected relation may be adopted in place of the clamping bolt and T-grooved part F herein shown without departure from my invention.
The upper part A2 of the work support will ordinarily be of the same length as the lower part A', but desirably said upper part will be placed so as to overhang the lower part at one end and to leave the lower part projecting` beyond the upper part a corresponding distance at the other end. By this construction two supports, when placed end to end, will overlap, as indicated in Fig. l. and they will better support the work beneath the pressure of the roller die as the joint between two sections passes over the subjacent bed roller C.
I claim as my invention- 1. An adjustable, traveling work support comprising a base member for engagement with the feed roller of a wood decorating machine or the like, a work supporting mem'ber resting upon said base member and adapted for angular adjustment with relation to the latter, and securingr devices for retaining said member in adjusted relation, substantial] y as set forth.
2. An adjustable, traveling work support comprising a base member for engagement with the feed roller of awood decorating machine or the like,aworkr supporting member superimposed upon said base member, the meeting faces of said members being respectively concave and convex in cross section, and devices for securing said members together in adjusted angular relation,substan tially as set forth.
3. A system of traveling work supports for wood decorating machines, comprising a se ries of sections or lengths each composed of a lower part and an upper part, the latter of which has its upper surface adjustable to any desired angle, as set forth, the upper and lower parts being of equal length but placed in overhanging relation to eachother, whereby the several sections of the system will overlap each other when placed end. t0 end in the machine, substantially as described.
4. In combination with the lower part A of the traveling work support having its upper surface concave in cross-section and provided with a curved metal part F having a T-groove therein extending transversely of the support, the upper part Azof the support having a lower surface fitted to the concaved upper surface of said lower part A and provided with a clamping bolt G engaged with the said T-groove, substantially as described.
