Definitions
- My invention relates to an improved aluminium alloy which while retaining the properties of aluminium so far as regards weight, color, ductibility, and resistance to oxidation, has such increased resistance as will permit of its use in many cases as a substitute for iron or steel.
- the metal can be rolled, formed, stamped, and drawn as easily as mild steel.
- the alloy consists of the following metals in the proportions given :copper, 0.375; tin, 0.105; antimony, 1.442; Wolfram, 0.038; aluminium, 98.040; total, 100.000.
- the metals are mixed in the order in which they are given, a small quantity of aluminium being added with each successive metal to act as a flux and facilitate its admixture.

Description
UNITED STATES PATENT OF ICE.
REINHARD ISIDORE ROMAN, OF LONDON, ENGLAND.
ALUMINIUM ALLOY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 528,181, dated October 30, 1894. Application filed February 20, 1894. Serial No. 500,927 (Specimens) Patented in England October 17, 1893. No. 19,543-
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, REINHARD ISIDORE Ro- MAN, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing in the city of London, county of Middlesex, England, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Aluminium Alloys, (for which I have obtained a patent in Great Britain, No. 19,543, bearing date October 17, 1893,) of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improved aluminium alloy which while retaining the properties of aluminium so far as regards weight, color, ductibility, and resistance to oxidation, has such increased resistance as will permit of its use in many cases as a substitute for iron or steel.
The metal can be rolled, formed, stamped, and drawn as easily as mild steel.
The alloy consists of the following metals in the proportions given :copper, 0.375; tin, 0.105; antimony, 1.442; Wolfram, 0.038; aluminium, 98.040; total, 100.000.
The metals are mixed in the order in which they are given, a small quantity of aluminium being added with each successive metal to act as a flux and facilitate its admixture. When i REINHARD ISIDORE ROMAN.
