SPECULUM.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 519,623, dated May 8 1894.
Application filed November 2'7, 1893. Serial No.492,176. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
. Be it known thatI, MAURITIUS WERTHEIM- ER, a subject of the King of Roumania, residing at Berlin, Germany, have invented a certain new and useful Improved Speculum, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The present invention relates to speculum reflectors and consists in applying an adjustable mirror to an ordinaryvvaginal speculum in such a manner that a woman may, by introducing the instrument into her own vagina, obtain a clear View of the internal genital organs for any purpose such as for instance, syringing and the application of medical remedies of any description, And in order to make ,the present specification more easily intelligible reference is bad to the accompanying drawings in which similar letters denote similar parts throguhout the several views.

I claim as my invention In a speculum, the combination of a telescopic arm pivotally attached to the same and having at its end a mirror attached thereto by means of a. universal joint substantially as described.
