PAPER-FOLDlNG-MACHINE ATTACHMENT FOR PRlNTlNG-PRESSES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 504,825, dated September 12, 1893.

To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, TALBOTT O. DEXTER, of Fulton, in the county of Oswego, in the State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Paper-Folding-Machine Attachments for Printing-Presses, of which-the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a full, clear, and eX- act description.
This invention relates to the detachable connection of a paper-folding machine to a printing press so as to permit-the use of a fly for transferring the paper from the press onto a table on which said paper is to be piled whenever desired to so dispose of the printed paper in lieu of folding the same.
The object of my present invention is to reduce to aminimum thelabor and expenses of effecting the connection of the paper folding machine to the printing press, and to that end the invention consists in the novel contruction and combination of parts as hereinafter described and specifically set forth in the claims.
In the annexed drawings Figure 1 is a side elevation of my invention. Fig. 2 is an inner side view of one of the stationary brackets with the detachable bracket mounted thereon, and Fig. 3 is a front view of the same.

A- designates the feed-table of a printing press, and B the end of a paper-folding machine adjacent to said press.
To opposite sides of the press-frame at the delivery end of the press, preferably to the under side of the feed-table -A- l rigidly attach brackets -O- which are placed a proper distance apart to allow apaper transferring fly to be employed between them when desired. To each of said brackets I detachably secure a supplemental bracket -D- on which are mounted the usual paper transferring mechanisms by which the printed paper is carried from the press to the folding machine B.
To facilitate the attachment and detachment of the supplemental brackets to and from the stationary brackets, I provide the bracket -C- with a shoulder or seat a at the base of the bracket and with a clamping bolt -babove said seat, and form the supplemental bracket D- with a recess or shoe (Z by which it rests upon the seat a-, and opposite the bolt -b. I provide the bracket D with a slot c in its edge, through which slot the said bolt passes and is provided with a nut e by which the said bracket is clamped on the sta tionary bracket O.
The described brackets and their appurtenances permit the paper folding machine to be readily connected to the printing press by simply mounting the brackets D upon the seats aof the stationary brackets O and then placing the brackets D in such position as to cause the bolts b to enter the slots c and .then tightening the nuts e of said bolts.
The disconnection of the folding machine from the press is equally as easily eiifected by reversing the aforesaid action. The paper transferring mechanisms remain mounted on the brackets D during the attachment and detachment of the latter to and from the stationary brackets O.
What I claim as my invention is- 1. The combination, with a printing press and paper-folding machine, of brackets secured stationary to the delivery end of said press, supplemental brackets detachably connected directly to said stationary brackets, and paper transferring mechanism mounted on said supplemental brackets as set forth.
2. The combination, with a printing press and paper-folding machine, of the brackets -O secured to the delivery end of the press and provided with the seat aand clamping bolt b the supplemental brackets D- resting'on said seat and provided With the slot --c for the reception of said bolt, and papertransferring mechanisms mounted on said supplemental brackets, as set forth.
