To all whom it may concern.-

SON, a citizen of the United States, residi ng at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of 'Il1inois, have invented certain new and useful Inprovem'ents in Barrel-VVaShers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such 7 as will 'enable others skilled in the art to' IQ* which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to a* novel co'nstruc- 'tion in barrl washing machines; and more particularly to that part of a barrel washing machine in which the barrel is filled with hot r water, the object being to provide a device of this characterthat wiil be'simple and drable' in construction and eflicient in operationp The inventionconsists in the features of con-` struction and combinations ,of parts here-inatter fully described and specifically claimed. The said sprocket wheels 5: stand' a little higherthau the highest' portion ot thetrack and extend down adjacent the bottom ot the tub and below the horizontal portion of the 4 trackway B. Near the rear end ofthe tub and close to the sides thereof two smaller sprocket wheels 7, 7, are located, which are mounted upona shaft-B supported in bearings in the sides of the tub. The lower edges i of said sprocket wheels 7 are arranged at about 69 the same height as the lower edges of sprocket wheels 5 and said sprocket wheels 7 extend only about half way to the top of the tub. Sprocket chains 9, 9` are trained around said sprocket wheels 5 and 7, andguide pulleys 10 are mounted in bearings on` the sides of the tub just over the forward end of the horizontal portions of the tracks B." The lower edge 4 of said guide pulleys 10 is arranged at about the same height as the upper edge of the 7o sprocket wheels 7, so that the sprocket chains 9 will -pass in a horizontal line from the sprocket wt '2els 7 to and under the guide pulleys 10, then ascend to and over the 'large sprocket wheels 5, and then back and along the bottom of the tub to and around the small 'sprocket wheels 7. It will thus be seen that the upper portions'of the sprocketchains are located about arallel with and a. little above the tracks B. I claim 'as my invention:-' i 1. T-hecombination substantially a's hereibefore ,setforth with ateher trough, of tracks i located within the sa'me an d hear the bottom of the tub or trough and upon which a barrel or keg is adapted to be sup orted,.a series of taveling bars located over said tra'cks,and devices constructed p'actically as described, to move said barsalong and over the tracks whereby said barrels or kege will be moved along said-tracks, substantially as described.

The combination substantially as herei nbefore set forth with a tub or trougl, of tracks located within the same and near the bottom of the tub or trough and upon which a barrel or keg is adapted to be supported, said tracks being inclined *upwardly and do'wnwardly" near one end ot' the tub or trough to pass over the end wall thereof, a series of traveling bars located over said tracks, and devices conv structed practicall y as described, to move said bars along and over said tracks whereby said `or trough and having upwardly and downbarrels or kege will be -moved along said 20 traoks, substantially as described.

3. The combiuation substantially as hereinbefore set forth with a tub or trough, of tracks located within and near the bottom of the tub 5 ward] y iclined portions near one end thereof to pass over the end wall of the tub or trough, gear wheels located near the ends of the tub or trough, chains trained around said gear wheels, a series of bars exteuding between said chains, and devices for driving said gear wheels, substantially as described;
