Description
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JAMEs sANGsTER, or BUFFALO, NEW YORK, AssreNoR To HARRY BALL' AND WM. H. RoNNELL.
IMPROVEMENT |-N LUBRICATING-CUPS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N0. 48,776, dated July 1l, 1865.
T0 all lwhom @ft may concern:
Beit known that I, JAMES SANGsrER, of Bui`a1o,in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented anew and useful Improvement in Oilers; and I do hereby declare that the following'is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists in providing the oiler with a brace, placed ou the inside and just above the bottom, lor the purpose 'Ihe same letters in both figures represent similar parts in each.
A represents the tube through which the oil is forced while oilingmachinery, &c. Itis made inthe usual form, and is screwed in place in the usual way at the point A.
F is the body; E, the bottom.
B is the brace. It is made of a thin plate of metal, and is soldered to the body of the canon the inside at the points C D.
The oil is forced through the tube A in the usual manner by pressing against the bottom E. The brace B prevents its being pressed far enough to stop it from springing back, and hencefobviates the objection to the oilers in common use by preserving the elasticity or spring of the bottom.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The brace B, when constructed to operate as herein substantially set forth and described.
Witnesses: JAMES SANGS'IER.
