Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 48,554, dated- July 4, 1865.
Y To all whom it' may concern.-
Beit known that I, CHARLES W, HARRIS, of the city of Philadelphia, in the 'State of Pennsylvania, have invented a. new and useful Improvementin B0X, Ship, orMast Scrapers, of the nature and description hereinafter set forth,
reference being hed to the annexed drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists in providing the scraper, Figure 1, with the concave 'head-piece or cutter A, Fig. 1, so arranged as to present a more `oblique angle to the surface to be cut or scraped, rendering the process of scraping more easy and uniform, and the blade being less liable to chatter.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
I coustructmy scraper inthe usual manner,
provided with the cutter A, Fig. 1, which l make concave upon the inner surface, as shown angular, as shown in Fig. 2or of any other form. rIhe cutter A is attached to the shank manner.
I claim- Constructing a box-scraper of the form substantially as described.
