Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
PETER MEYER, OF METAMORA, ILLINOIS.
DISPLAY RACK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 475,787, dated May 31, 1892. Application filed June 3, 1891. Serial No. 394,971. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, PETER MEYER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Metamora, in the county of W'oodford and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Racks; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to improvements in display-racks.
The object of the invention is to providea suitable rack of peculiar construction which will serve to hold articles of all kinds for the purpose of display.
In the drawing hereto annexed the figure represents a perspective view of the rack.
The device is constructed as follows: A frame is formed of one piece of wire, which is composed of the front Vertical stretch of wire I, and this continues upwardly andis formed into a spiral J of one or more turns, as shown, and descends for a distance below the lower end of the portion I, and then is turned upwardly to form the curve L, and thence the wire continues, as shown at M, in a horizontal direction to the right and dropping into a second curve L to correspond to the curve L, and the wire still continuing upwardly, as shown by K, forms a spiral J, corresponding to the spiral J first above mentioned, and from this spiral the wire descends to form the remaining front portion I. Each of the front portions I and I has an eye formed of the lower free end thereof, which engages with an eye formed on either end of a wire brace or stay N. A stay-wire P is secured to the rear portion of the rack near the spirals J and J, and also one near the bottom of frame at O. A third brace Q is secured to the front of rack to the portions I and I near the said spirals J and J, as shown, and a bail R, with a convenient loop S, is attached to the rack by means of the eyes T and T, as shown.
I claim- The herein-described display-rack, made of the piece of spring-wire bent to form the curved rests L L and front rod M, the back K K, spirals J J, front portions I I, and furnished with the bail R, back braces P and O, and front braces Q and N, and made substantially as herein set forth and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
PETER MEYER.
