Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. L17,161, dated April 4, 1865.
To LZZ whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that we, FRANCIS GUSTAVUS B1ELEFELD,oi' Berlin, Prussia, and CHARLES C. E. SCHWARTZ, of the free city of Haniburg, have invented a new and Improved Cork-Extractor; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being' had to the accompanying drawings, and to ihe letters of reference marked thereon.
Our invention relates to drawing or extracting eorks from bottles after they have passed the neck and are in the body ofthe bottle.
In order to enable skilled mechanics to construct and operate our invention, we do now rproceed to describe its construction and operation.
Figurel is an end view. Fig.2 is a side view. Fig. 3 is a view showing' the method ot' drawing the corks, and Fig. et is a bottom view of the button.

Ais a handle, to which is fastened the rod C is a metallic spring, having the button D riveted to its inner side and equidistant from both its ends c c. The two ends c c ofthe metallic spring C are bent around and riveted or fastened to the two ats filed on opposite sides of the end of the rod B. The button D is iiattened at the part which bears against the metallic spring C for the purpose of giving the button a more secure bearing. The button D is for pressing against the end of the cork while being' drawn, and also for keeping the metallic spring C from kinking.

The combination of the rod B, the metallic spring' C, and the button D, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
