Description
UNITED STATES- PATENT OEFIc JACOB LEBEAU, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO.
IMPROVED MOLDERS TABLE.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, J AcoB LEBEAU, of Cincinnati, Hamilton county, Ohio, have invented a new and- Improved Table for Molders Flasks; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, refer-ence being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of lthis specification;
My invention is intended to facilitate the dusting of molds, especially those of the larger class, by enabling the mold after it has been rammed and the pattern withdrawn to be easily canted to any side desired and rolled around at the will of the molder, so as to place all of its vertical sides successively at a convenient slope and presentation to receive and retain the facing-dust.
Figure l is a perspective view of my im provement. Fig. 2 is an axial section of the same. Fig. 3 is a plan.
A is my table, consisting of a circular disk, from the center of whose under surface projects-a foot, B, which in the operation of dust*- ing supports the table in the canted position shown at Fig. 2.
C are chocks, which, being inserted under the table A, support it in the horizontal position after the dusting operation.
I provide in my table A one or more circles of sockets, D'and E, to receive a suitable num-- ber of studs, F, which serve to center and confine the flask G, the studs being of course inserted in a larger or smaller circle of sockets, according to the size of the flask. When, however, a single or uniform dimension of flask is employed, the movable studs F may be replaced by Xed projections from the top of the table.
Operation: The table having' been secured in a horizontal position by means of the chocks C, and the ilask placed upon it between the studs F, the pattern is inserted and rammed and then withdrawn in the customary manner. rlhe chocks being now removed the table is allowed to quietly assume the canted position shown in Fig. 2. The molder then commences dusting on the side which inclines outward, and slowly rolls the table around, dusts every side as it reaches a convenient position. By Vthis means the dusting is completed in avery short time and more uniformly and effectively and with far less waste of dust7 than in the common way.
I have selected to illustrate my invention the form which in practical use I have found to be effective, but do not desire to restrict the invention to the precise arrangement hercin described so long as I attain the end in View by means substantially equivalent. For example, the table may be made in octagonal or other polygonal form.
I claim herein as new and of my invention- The rolling or tipping table for molders7 flasks, constructed and operating substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
In testimony of which invention I hereunto set my hand.
JACOB LEBEAU.
