SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 437,994, dated October '7, 1890.
Application filed May 14, 1890.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN T. JACOBS, of Stapleton, in the county of Richmond and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Liniment-Pad, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention consists of a pad provided with detachable fastening-tabs for securing it to the body, thus adapting the pad to be removed and its medicament renewed and applied again and again to the body.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forminga part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
Figure l is a perspective view of my new and improved liniment-pad complete. Fig. 2 is a like view of the pad without the fastening-tabs. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of one of the detached fastening-tabs, and Fig. 4 is a perspective view showing the under surface of the fastening-tab.
A represents the body of the pad, which may be of any appropriate size and form, and may be of any suitable construction, having a felt or other absorbent facing B to receive liniment or other medicine to be applied to the human body. Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. As a new article of manufacture, a tab for pads, having an adhesive surface and provided with an extension for securing it to a pad, as specified.
2. As a new article of manufacture, a tab for pads, provided with an extension having a button-hole therein for securing it to a pad, and with an adhesive tab on the under surface of its body portion, as set forth.
3. The combination, with a pad, of tabs proj ecting from the edges of the pad and having adhesive surfaces, substantially as described.
4. The combination, withapad, of tabs having adhesive surfaces detachably secured to the pad, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
5. The combination, witha pad provided with buttons, of tabs having adhesive surfaces and provided with button-holes for engaging the buttons of the pad, substantially as herein shown and described.
