DOOR-BUTTON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 382,086, dated May 1, 1888.

To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANK J. HERRIoK, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented a certain 5 new and usefulIrnprovement in Door-Buttons,
of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, where the figure is a View in crosssectionof a door-button embodying my improvement.
The object of this improvement is the production of a button for doors, closets, and the like which shall have a concealed cushion or buffer of rubber or the like exerting a constant friction between the button and the surface to which the button is attached, to the end that the button shall not be accidentally misplaced as regards its rotary position.
The letter (t denotes the turn-button. The letter 1) denotes the pivot-pin or screw on which it turns. The letter 0 denotes a cushion no of rubber or the like borne in a mortise in the under side of the button. By means of the screw b the cushion can be made to bear on the surface d with such pressure as is desired. The purpose of the cushion c is to prevent the accidental rotary displacement of the button, and it is hidden from sight by being located as shown.
I claim as my improvement- The combination of the mortised button a, the pivot-pin b, and rubber cushion a, secured in the mortise, all substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
