[56] References Cited 231,529 8/1880 Boyington 223/115 BOOT JACK FIELD OF THE INVENTION My invention is directed toward a boot jack for removing footwear, especially fitted outdoor boots of the Western and sport patterns. It differs from known jacks in that it is designed to be stepped into rather than upon and is characterized by increased stability and more efficient boot removal.
SUMMARY To this end, an elongated flat horizontal first member rests upon the ground. A flat inclined elongated second member is secured at one end to a corresponding end of the first member and extends upward inclinedly with the other end of the second member extending past the other end of the first member and having a boot heel receiving recess therein. The second member also has an opening exposing a substantial portion of the first member.
In use, a user places one foot through the opening in the second member onto the first member. The other foot is so placed that its heel is disposed in the recess. Body leverage then allows the user to remove the boots with minimum effort.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS:
Referring now to FIGS. 1-3, a flat horizontal elongated rectangular first member or board lies flat on the ground or other suitable surface.
A second flat inclined rectangular member or board 12 has one end secured to a corresponding end of member 10 and extends inclinedly upwards whereby the other end of member 12 extends past the other end of member 10. The other end of member 12 has a boot heel receiving recess 14 lined with a protective plate 16 of leather or other soft material.
The member 12 has a large foot-receiving rectangular opening 18 extending from the first member 10 upward almost to the other end of the first member.
An inclined board 20 extends upward inclinedly from the other end of member 10 to a point intermediate the ends of member 12 but adjacent the recess. The top surface of member 10 can carry a protective plate 22 of leather or other soft material.
The user then presses one foot downward through opening 18 onto member 10 and engages the heel of the boot on the other foot in recess I4. The invention can then be used as previously described.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
I claim:
I. A boot jack comprising:
a flat horizontal elongated bottom board;
a flat inclined elongated top board;
the rear end of said top board being secured to a corresponding end of said bottom board;
the front end of said top board being raised above and forwardly of the first board and having a boot heel receiving recess in the front end thereof; said top board having a large foot-receiving rectangular opening extending from the rear of said bottom board adjacent to the boot heel receiving recess of said top board to be stepped into by a user; and an inclined board extending upward from the front end of said bottom board to a point intermediate the recessed end of said top board and adjacent said recess.

Claims (1)

1. A boot jack comprising: A FLAT HORIZONTAL ELONGATED BOTTOM BOARD; A FLAT INCLINED ELONGATED TOP BOARD; THE REAR END OF SAID TOP BOARD BEING SECURED TO A CORRESPONDING END OF SAID BOTTOM BOARD; THE FRONT END OF SAID TOP BOARD BEING RAISED ABOVE AND FORWARDLY OF THE FIRST BOARD AND HAVING A BOOT HEEL RECEIVING RECESS IN THE FRONT END THEREOF; SAID TOP BOARD HAVING A LARGE FOOT-RECEIVING RECTANGULAR OPENING EXTENDING FROM THE REAR OF SAID BOTTOM BOARD ADJACENT TO THE BOOT HEEL RECEIVING RECESS OF SAID TOP BOARD TO BE STEPPED INTO BY A USER; AND AN INCLINED BOARD EXTENDING UPWARD FROM THE FRONT END OF SAID BOTTOM BOARD TO A POINT INTERMEDIATE THE RECESSED END OF SAID TOP BOARD AND ADJACENT SAID RECESS.
