SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 365,526, dated June 28, 1887.
Application filed February 3, 1887. Serial No. 226,471. (No model.)
To all whom it mag concern.-
Be it known that I, J OHN WEsLEY LEAS, of
WVest Manchester, in the county of Preble and State of Ohio, have invented a new and Improved Dry-Goods Exhibitor, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the annexed drawings, forming a part thereof, in whieh-- Figure 1 is a front elevation of my improved dry-goods exhibitor, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both views.
The object of my invention is to provide a simple and efficient device for holding and exhibiting all kinds of goodssuch as worsteds, cassimeres, dress-goods, woolens, &e.i n the bolt, to economize time and save labor in showing and handling the-goods.
My invention consists in a support, of suitble form and of convenient height, provided with a wedge shaped standard having a rounded end adapted to enter into the end of the cloth bolt and support it in a vertical position.
The support A may be of any desirable form adapted to hold a single bolt, or it may be of sufficient size to support a number of bolts. The support is provided with a horizontal top, B, in the center of which is secured a wedgeshaped standard, G, having rounded corners and a rounded upper end. The standard Ois made as thin as possible consistent with the strength required to support a bolt, in order that it may readily enter at the side of the board upon which the bolt is wound, or between the convolutions of the cloth. Bolts supported in this manner occupy but little room, and the cloth may be readily unwound and folded or draped to place itin position for exhibition. V
