M/VE/VTQZ WOMANS BUDDY This invention relates generally to womens garments.

A principal object of the present invention is to provide a woman's undergarment which is designed particularly for women who by nature are slim and are not generously endowed at certain parts of their anatomy.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a womans buddy which will eliminate the necessity for a slender woman to buy expensive, specially made padded dresses or suits because the present device may be used to build up the bodily contour beneath conventional dresses or suits so to give the woman a desired form.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a womans buddy which includes a plurality of durable rigid or semi-hard plastic panels having soft linings, the panels being separated by Y-shaped elastic center pieces so as to allow the device to move naturally and conform to the movements of the persons body during action such as in walking or the like.

Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a womans buddy which may be worn under dress clothing in all seasons of the year.

Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a womans buddy which could be designated under the term of Parisienne buddy and which would have self contained means for restoring a typicalfeminine contour at the waist line or hips.

Yet a further object of the present invention is to provide a womans buddy which could be characterized and categorized as a sports accoutrement designed to psychologically instill in slender women a developing interest in swimming which is a factor beneficial to the health of the nation.

Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a woman's buddy wherein the plastic panels may be made of transparent material so that the garment will readily blend with a swimming suit placed over it, regardless of the swim suit color, thereby preventing a clash of colors.

Other objects of the present invention are to provide a woman's buddy which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efficient in operation.

These and other objects will be readily apparent upon a study of the following specification and the accompanying drawing wherein:

FIG. 1 is a front perspective view of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a side elevation view thereof; and

FIG. 3 is a front view thereof shown worn beneath a bathing suit.

Referring now to the drawing in detail, the reference numeral represents a womans buddy according to the present invention wherein there is a one piece undergarment 11 that is designed to fit over a womans hips l2 and waist 13.

The garment is comprised of a pair of side panels 14 each of which is made of durable rigid or semi hard plastic material upon its outer side, the inner side of the panels 14 having a soft lining 15.

The side panels 14 are separated apart by a Y-shaped elastic center piece 16 at the front of the garment and a like Y-shaped centerpiece 17 at the rear.

Thus the Y-shaped center pieces 16 and 17 will allow flexing of the garment to conform to the body movements whereas the rigid plastic panels 14 provide stability. As shown in FIG. 2 of the drawing, the womans buddy may include a padded insert 18 between the panels 14 and lining 15 so as to improve a womans feminine contour.

As shown in FIG. 3 of the drawing, the woman's buddy 10 may be worn beneath a one piece bathing suit 19. It is to be noted that the woman's buddy comprises a member which is positioned above a womans panty 20 and therefore accordingly is not provided with leg openings.

The panels 14 may be made of a transparent plastic, if so desired, so that the undergarment will not interfere with a color of a garment placed thereover such as the bathing suit or a dress.

ln operative use, the undergarment may be worn in all seasons and under any of various types of garments.

While various changes may be made in the detailed construction, it is understood that such changes will be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as is defined by the appended Claims.

l claim:

1. ln a womans undergarment, the combination of a onepiece assembly comprised of a plurality of members, certain of said members being made of durable rigid or semi-rigid hard plastic material, and the other of said members comprising elastic members between said rigid semi-hard plastic members, said assembly being comprised of a pair of side panels and a pair of center pieces, said center pieces being positioned between adjacent side edges of said side panels, said side panels being formed of said rigid, durable semi-hard plastic material, and said elastic members comprising center pieces, one of which is located at the rear and the other of said center pieces being located at the front.

2. The combination as set forth in Claim 1 wherein each of said centerpieces comprises a generally narrow elastic member extending vertically between an upper and a lower edge of said assembly, the upper portion of said centerpiece having sidewardly, outwardly diverging side edges to form a Y-shape to said centerpiece.

3. The combination as set forth in Claim 2 wherein the inner side of each of said rigid, semi hard plastic panels includes a soft lining material.

4. The combination as set forth in Claim 3 wherein each of said rigid, durable semi hard plastic panels is made of a transparent material.
