To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN RUEKSTUHL, of| Matteawan, Dutchess county, State of New York, haveinvented a new and Improved RippingKnife, of which the following specification is a full, clear, and exact description.
Thisinvention relates to a ripping knife for opening thc seams in clothing, and for similar purposes.
The invention consists in the elements of construction hereinafter more fully pointed out.
The accompanying drawing represents aside view of my improved ripping-knife.
The lettera represents the handle of the knife, and I) is the shank of the blade, which terminates in an enlargement or head, 0. The head 0 is provided with one straight upwardly-projecting prong, d, and with one outwardly curved or hook -shaped prong, e. The z straight prong d is of tapering shape, and has two cntting-etlges,fg, while the hook c has a cutting-edge, h, formed on its concave side, In use either one or the other of the prongs is used as a ripper, according to convenience.
I claim as my invention The combination of handle a with shank b and head 0, having straight tapering prong d and curved prong e, the prong d having cutting-edgesf g, and the prong 6 having cut- 3 ting-edge h, substantially as specified.
