COMBINED BAG-HOLDER AND TRUCK.I
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 323,141, dated July 28, 1885.
Application filed November 28, 1884. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CASPER HATZ, of Big Stone City, in the county of Grant and Territory of Dakota, have invented a new and Improved Combined Bag-Holder and Truck, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of my invention is to to provide a new and improved combined bag-holder and truck, which holds the bag open to facilitate filling it, and also to facilitate moving the filled bag about.
The invention consists in certain constructions and combinations of parts, as hereinafter described and claimed.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved combined bag-holder and truck. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of theloop forming the holder. Fig. 3 is aperspective view ofa modi fioation of the same,
The truck-body or board A, provided at its lower end with the wheels B and the foot 0, has its upper end tapered to form a handle, D, having a head or knob, E. In each side of the lower part of the handle a longitudinal groove, F, is formed. A metal rod, G, from three-eighths to one-halfan inch in diameter, is bent to form a large loop, G, which may be circular, square, or oblong, and the inner ends, J, of the rod are bent down and crossed to form a square or oblong loop, K, and are then bent inward to form hooks H.
The above-described holder is placed on the front of the board A at the upper end, the hooks Hbeiug passed into the groovesF, and the tapered end of the board A passing through the loop K. The upper open end of the bag L is passed through the loop G, and the end seam is turned down over the outside of the loop G and over the head or knob E. The bag can then be filled very easily, as its mouth is held open, and as the weight in the bagincreases the top of the bag is held more firmly on the loop G. If desired, the loop G can be held on the upper end of a rigid or fixed board shaped in the manner described. If desired, the loop G may be constructed'as shown in Fig. 3, the ends being bent and shaped to form a square frame or loop, K, at the ends of the rod or wire, the hooks H being dispensed with.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A bag-holder consisting of a bag-supporting loop, G, having an approximatelycircular form, and a smaller loop, K, which is adapted for attachment to avertical support, said loops being in different but parallel planes and connected by vertical rods or arms, as shown and described.
2. The combination of the bag-holder, formed of loops G and K, with the truck-board having its free end tapered to adapt it to enter the smaller loop, as shown and described.
3. The combination, witha truck-board, A, of the loop G, having its free ends connected to form a loop, K, and provided with hooks H, substantially as shown and described.
4. The combination ofthebag-holder proper, consisting of loops G and K, having hooks H, with the truck-board having a tapered upper end and side grooves,F, substantially as shown and described.
CASPER HATZ.
