(Cl. 248102) This invention relates to an improved device for supporting and holding a nursing bottle so that milk or other liquid nourishment will flow by gravity to the mouth of an infant, and the nursing bottle will not be displaced or disconnected from the mouth of the infant, by the rolling or shifting movement of the infant.

One of the objects of the invention is the provision of a combined support and holder, by means of which a nursing bottle may be supported at a suitable inclination on the body of an infant, and strapped to the infants body in correct relation to the mouth of the infant, so that proper feeding, without constant supervision may be maintained.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a holder and supporter for nursing bottles with a platform disposed at an inclination which is constructed to receive any of the different sized nursing bottles, and an elastic retaining strap or cover, which is detachably coupled to the platform, and which will hold the nursing bottle securely on the platform, and with a strap for securing the platform to the body of the infant, sothat a fixed relation between the nipple of the nursing bottle and the mouth of the infant may be maintained, and the nursing bottle may be shifted n the platform, without disturbing the position of the body strap on the infant.

With the above and other objects in view, the invention comprises certain new and useful constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts, clearly described in the following specification and shown in the drawings which illustrate my invention.

Referring to the accompanying drawings, which illustrate the practical embodiment of my invention, designates a platform, which may be constructed of any material, preferably plastic, and which includes the opposing side walls 11 and 12, the upper edges of which are bonded or permanently secured to the semi-circular trough 13, which is inclined downwardly from its high rear end toward its front end, and the side walls 11 and 12 are of general triangular shape to maintain this inclination.

The lower edges of the side walls and supports for the inclined trough are provided wtih lateral base flanges 11a and 12a, projecting in opposite directions, and a cross brace sheet or bar 14 is welded or permanently bonded at its ends to the side walls 11 and 12. The base flanges 11a and 12a and this cross bar or sheet 14 are disposed in a low arch so as to seat against the upper side of an infant's body, disposed horizontally in a crib, baby buggy or other carrier or service unit.

A flexible fabric or leather strap, or a plastic strap, 16 is extended over and through the lower ends or edges of the side walls and the cross brace bar 14, and is provided on one with a buckle or coupling member 16a, so that the strap may be properly tightened about the body of the infant being fed, and the platform 10 supported in proper spaced relation to the mouth of the infant.

On the trough 13 the nursing bottle B is disposed. This bottle may be of any type, or construction, and forms no specific part of my invention. This bottle may be constructed of plastic, glass or any other material, and may have any diameter of any of the nursing bottles now being sold. Every one of these bottles includes a main wall, an end wall, and a nipple Ba, secured to the mouth of the bottle by various means.

The bottle B is retained on the trough 13 by means of a washable plastic cover or strap 17, which is constructed with elastic straps 18, 19 and 20, secured in the usual tubular pockets 21 thereof. The side edges of this flexible plastic cover are provided with button fastener elements 22, designed to cooperate with mating button snap fastener elements 22a attached to the sides of the platform 10.

By releasing one side of this cover the bottle may be easily shifted along the platform, after it has been strapped in place, so that the proper relation between the nipple and the mouth of the infant may be established and maintained, and then the cover secured in place, so that this selected position of the bottle will not be disturbed.

The elastic strap 18 is designed to engage the neck of the bottle, or any portion of the neck, so that accidental forward sliding of the bottle against the face of the infant will be prevented.

My invention provides simple and positive means for holding a nursing bottle in correct relation to an infant, so that the milk or other liquid nourishment will flow by gravity to the infant being fed, and the infant will not suck in air and develop colic.

The platform is effectively and easily secured to the body of the infant, so that the bottle cannot be displaced by any shifting of the infant, or any restlessness. connection permits of the adjustment of the relation of the platform to the head of the infant.

The inclined platform forms a trough which prevents lateral displacement of the bottle, establishes a correct draining inclined support for the bottle, and permits of easy longitudinal adjustment.

All parts of the bottle holder may be easily and quickly cleaned, and separately cleaned. By the use of a platform constructed of plastic material, and by the use of an apron or cover constructed of washable plastic material, a light, safe and sanitary unit is provided.

It is understood that various changes in the details of construction, the selection of materials, their combination and arrangement, may be carried out within the scope of the invention defined by the claim hereof, without departing from the invention as thus defined.
