11 Claims. (Cl. 219-40) This invention relates to carriers'y for vapori-zers and more particularly to carriers for electric vaporizers adapted to be used for vaporizingv medicated liquids or the like.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a novel combined carrier-stand for a vaporizer.
It is also an object of the present invention to provide a novel combined carrier-standv and female electric plug for an electric vaporizer.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a combined carrier-stand for a vaporizer having a capacity of the order of one half gallon or gallon and into which said vaporizer snugly fits.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a combined carrier-stand for a vaporizer whose construction minimizes the chance for breakage of the vaporizer Jar.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a combined carrier-stand which, with the vaporizer jar placed therein, may be diagonally packed in a carton so that the jar itself does not contact the carton sides. This arrangement reduces the possibility of jar breakage caused by sudden blows to the carton sides.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a combined carrier-stand for a vaporizer which is constructed to minimize the heat transfer from the vaporizer to the carrier-stand and to the table top upon which the stand rests.
A further object of the present invention is to provide a combined carrier-stand and electric plug for a vaporizer which is constructed to minimize the heat transfer from the vaporizer to the stand and furniture upon which the carrier rests and to the handle of the carrier.
It is also an object to provide an inexpensive, compact and convenient combinationelectric plug, carrier and stand for a vaporizer which is easily applied to the vaporizer.
Other objects and advantages will hereinafter appear.

A heating and medicament carrying unit 12 is suspended from closure member 13 into jar 11. Closure member 13 is secured to jar 11 by screw cap 14. Carrier-stand 6 may be formed from a rectangularly shaped wrought iron wire frame which is bent upwardly at both ends thereof to form a cradle having end members 7 and base members S. Base members 8 are provided with legs 9 which are formed by bending base members 8 upwardly at a point adjacent the both ends of said base members. Central curved portions 15 of base members S are then formed oy bending the portion of base members 8 between legs 9 downwardly in a smooth shallow curve thus providing bearing points 16 which support the vaporizer from below as is illustrated in Figure 3. Curved portion l5' extends downwardly to a plane short of the plane made by legs 9 of the carrier-stand. This arrangement keeps the vaporizer elevated from the surface on which the carrier-stand rests so that there is substantially no heat transfer to the table surface on which the vaporizer and carrier-stand are placed.
Upwardly and inwardly extending arms 17 of end members 7 are bent inwardly at a point remote from legs 9 to provide bearing points 18 which support the vaporizer laterally under spring pressure when it is disposed in the Vcarrier as is illustrated in Figure 3. Arms 17 are then bent outwardly to provide auxiliary handles 19 which may `be used to carry the vaporizer around.
A strap handle 20 preferably made of aluminum is hingedly mounted at the lower end thereof on one of the base members l5 at jogged portion 15a. The upper end of strap handle 20 is secured to female plug 3 by rivets 2i. Female plug 3 is provided with channels 22 cut through the front and bottom faces of female plug 3 so as to permit sliding female plug 3 into engagement with electrode terminals 2 at right angles thereto as illustrated in Figures l and 2. A salt measuring spoon 23 is movably secured to female plug 3.
The present construction provides a carrier-stand combination for a vaporizer which contacts the vaporizer jar 11 only at eight points, that is the four bearing points 16 of base members 8 and four bearing points 18 of the end members 7. This minimum contact affords very little opportunity of heat transfer from jar 11 to the carrier-stand and to the handle of the carrier-stand as well as the surface on which the carrier-stand rests.
In use jar 11 is inserted into carrier-stand 6. The spring action of end members 7 keeps vaporizer 11 snugly in place and bearing on the bearing points 16 and 18. The vapcrizer may then be partially filled with water or some other liquid and the medicament to be vaporized may be placed in the medicament holder of unit 12. Closure member 13 and its depending heating and medicament carrying unit 12 is inserted into jar 11 and secured in place by screw cap 14. Female plug 3 is brought into engagement with terminal electrodes 2 by moving strap handle 20 about its hinged joint until contact is made. Electric lead wire 24 may then be plugged into a source of electric power.
As shown in Figs. 5, 6 and 7, the vaporizer 10 and carrier-stand 5 are shown in assembled condition in a carton 30. The center line of the carrier-stand 5 is diagonally placed with respect to the sides 31 and 32 of the carton 30. In this manner, the vaporizer jar is prevented from contacting the sides 31 and 32 of the c'arton 30. Therefore, any sudden blows or shocks against the side walls 31 and 32 would not be a blow directly against the vaporizer jar 10. The carrier-stand, consequently, acts as shock-absorbing packing. In a like manner, both the bottom of the jar i6 and the top are out of direct contact with the bottom 33 and top 34 of the carton 30. This is brought about by the legs.

In Fig. 8, a modified handle 19' of the carrier-stand is illustrated. The carrier-stand is identical to that illustrated in Figs. 1-7 with the exception that the handle portion 19' is semi-circular.
The present invention is not restricted to the specic embodiments illustrated and described in detail herein. Several modifications of the specific embodiment illustrated will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit of this invention.
What is claimed is:
l. A carrier stand adapted for supporting a vaporizer comprising a base centrally located with respect to upstanding resilient members connected to opposite sides of said base and extending upwardly and inwardly above said base, said members being adapted to laterally support a vaporizer between said members, said base being formed of spaced elements, means fixed on said base and extending upwardly as a part of said base and dening a plane of support for a vaporizer for supporting said vaporizer upon said base with minimum contacts therewith to minimize the transfer of heat from said vaporizer to said base.
2. The apparatus of claim l including means at spaced points ou said upstanding members projecting inwardly of said upstanding members above said base for delining lateral support means spaced inwardly of said upstanding members above said base to support the vaporizer with lateral pressure within said carrier in spaced relation to said upstanding members to minimize the transfer of heat from said container to said upstanding members.
3. The apparatus of claim l including said upstanding members having means connected to their upper ends extending outwardly of said upstanding members in a direction generally laterally thereof and forming handles.
4. The apparatus of claim l including a strap handle pivotally connected to said base, said strap handle having a rst portion extending upwardly from said base in normal position for use, and a second portion extending inwardly of said first portion over said base, a first plug member carried by said second portion, a vaporizer container mounted in said stand and seated on said support means on said base, said vaporizer having a cover, a second plug member on said cover electrically conlnected to the rst mentioned plug member when said strap handle is in normal position, and said strap handle being spaced from said container and from said base along substantially its entire length.
5. A vaporizer comprising the combination of a vaporizer jar, a cover for said jar, means connected to said cover adapted to generate vapor, means on said cover to emit the vapor and a carrier stand adapted to support the vaporizer jar, said carrier stand including a `base centrally located with respect to spaced facing upstanding resilient members connected to opposite sides of said base and extending upwardly above said base, said members being inwardly inclined and adapted to provide a point contact with and lateral support for the vaporizer received between said members, means forming spaced legs projecting downward from and connected to said base, and means forming a vaporizer support extending upwardly as a part of said base, adapted to support the vaporizer upon said base and with a limited amount of contact with said base.
6. A vaporizer comprising in combination, a vaporizer jar, a cover member for said jar, means extending downwardly from said cover into said jar adapted to generate vapor, means extending upwardly from said cover outside of said jar to emit the vapor and a vaporizer stand adapted to support the vaporizer jar, said vaporizer stand including a wire-like element, said wire-like element being bent to form opposed resilient upstanding end members adapted to support a vaporizer received between said members, said end members being inwardly inclined, a base comprising members connecting said end members in spaced relationship, means forming spaced leg members for said stand projecting downwardly beneath said base members, and bearing means for supporting a vaporizer on said base member extending upwardly from and positioned above the remainder of said base to minimize the transfer of heat from said vaporizer to said base and leg members.
7. A carrier stand adapted for supporting a vaporizer comprising a wire-like element, said wire-like element being bentl to form opposed upstanding inwardly biased resilient end members -for supporting a vaporizer therebetween, a base comprising portions connecting said end members, said base including means forming downwardly extending spaced leg members,` and a portion comprising a support intermediate the end members, having a minimum contact surface area for said vaporizer, and handle means connecting a pair of said upstanding members and extending outwardly therefrom.
8. A carrier stand according to claim 7, wherein said handle means includes a wire-like element connecting the upper ends of opposite pairs of handles.
9. A carrier stand adapted for supporting a vaporizer, comprising a base, spaced facing upstanding resilient members connected to opposite sides of said base and extending upwardly above said base, said members being adapted to provide lateral pressure to support a vaporizer to be received between said members, a portion of said base forming spaced legs projecting downwardly from and connected to said base, a portion of said base extending upwardly from the remainder of said base forming a support for a vaporizer thereon, and handle means connected to each of said upstanding members and spaced outwardly of said members.
10. A carrier stand adapted for supporting a vaporizer comprising a base, spaced facing upstanding resilient members connected to opposite sides of said base and extending upwardly above said base, said members being adapted to provide lateral pressure to support a vaporizer to be received between said members, a portion of said base forming spaced legs projecting downwardly, a portion of said base forming a support for a vaporizer thereon, a handle strap connected to said base and pivotal about a horizontal axis, said handle strap having handle portion extending upwardly from said base and a horizontal portion extending horizontally over `said base when said strap is in normal position for use, a female electrical plug member connected to said horizontal portion of said strap, said plug member having electrode terminals, a vaporizer comprising a container positioned within said stands, said vaporizer being seated on said vaporizer support means and gripped laterally of said base by said upstanding members, said container having a cover, a male electrical plug member connected to said cover, said male plug member comprising electrode terminals projecting outwardly from said cover, said plug members being in mating engagement when said strap is in said normal position, said female plug member being provided with channels lcut through the front and bottom face thereof to allow for passage of said male plug member electrode terminals, the pivotal connection of said strap allowing the connection of said female plug member terminals with said male plug member terminals and said strap handle being spaced from said container and from said base along substantially its entire length,

A carrier stand adapted for supporting a Vaporizer comprising a wire-like element, said wire-like element being bent to form opposed resilient opstanding end members adapted to laterally support the vaporizer received between said members, a base comprising a pair of members connecting said end members in spaced relationship, means forming spaced leg members for said stand projecting downwardly beneath said base members, bearing means for supporting a vaporizer on said base, the upper extremities of the resilient upstanding end members being bent to extend outwardly of said opstanding members in a direction generally laterally thereof, whereby handles are formed on the opposite sides 4of the stand.
