Claims. (Cl. 132-80) This invention is particularly concerned with a combination razor holder and shaving cream dispenser.

Otherwise stated, the invention is embodied in a shaving cream dispenser having facilities to have attached thereto a conventional razor so that the dispenser container may be employed not only as a container for the shaving cream but as a convenient grip for the razor in shaving operations.

More specifically stated, it is a general object and accomplishment of the invention to provide a novel shaving cream dispenser, portions of which may be made. of a flexible-like material so that when these portions are squeezed by the hand of the user shaving cream in proper quantities will be ejected from the container for application on the face of the user.

Another object and accomplishment of the invention is to provide a dispenser as hereinbefore described and arranged to accommodate a conventional razor in a manner as to combine the operations of applying shaving cream to the face of the user and thereafter facilitating the performance of the usual shaving operation.

The invention seeks as another important object and accomplishment to provide a combination shaving cream dispenser and razor holder such as contemplated herein and characterized by a novel combination of parts arranged and adapted to provide a compact assembly which will successfully combine the factors of structural simplicity, efficiency and durability, thereby to increase its versatility in use and yet be economical to manufacture.

The invention further contemplates the provision of a shaving cream dispenser that is capable of being conveniently molded of a plastic composition to provide economies of manufacture, and more important, to appeal to the aesthetic senses of the user from a design standpoint.

An ancillary object and accomplishment of the invention is to provide a combination shaving cream dispenser and razor holder which is adapted to be economically manufactured and which is so designed as to permit the manufacture and assembly thereof in accordance with present day large scale mass production of construction and assembly.

Additional objects, features and advantages of the invention disclosed herein will be apparent to persons skilled in the art after the construction and operation are understood from the within description.

It is preferred to accomplish the various objects of this invention and to practice the same in substantially the manner as more fully described herein and as more particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

A preferred embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing forming a part hereof and wherein:

The drawing is to be understood to be more or less of a schematic character for the purpose of illustrating or disclosing a typical or preferred form of the improvements contemplated herein, and in the drawing like reference characters identify the same parts in the several views.

In the exemplary embodiment of the invention depicted in Figs. 1, 2 and 3, the combination shaving cream dispenser and razor holder with which the invention is particularly concerned is designated in its entirety by the numeral 20, and comprises, in general, an arcuately shaped container having

In Figs. 1 and 2 it can be clearly seen that a conventional razor designated by the letter A is carried by the upper regions of the shaving cream dispenser 20. Attention is invited to Fig. 3 wherein there is disclosed a centrally disposed walled chamber 30 adapted to receive the handle portions B of the razor A. Most razors are provided with a centrally disposed elongated flange adjacent the lower regions of the head thereof and this flange is received in the recess 31 which provides a means of preventing relative movement between the razor head and the upper regions of the shaving cream dispenser.

In order to secure the razor in position with respect to the shaving cream dispenser, the end portions of the handle B of the razor are received into a depression 35 formed in an annular element 36 provided. with a knurled annularly shaped grip 37 as shown in Fig. 3. A fn'ctional grip shouldbe provided between the surfaces of the depression 35 and the periphery of the end portions of the handle B of the razor. Thus, it can be seen that when the razor is disposed in position as hereinbefore described, manual rotation of the knurled grip 37 will effect rotation of the end portions of the handle B of the razor A thereby to open and close the doors and 71 of the razor A to facilitate insertion and removal of the razor blades. Moreover, the frictional grip between the surfaces of the depression 35 and the end portions of the razor B will prevent the dispenser are :disposed in .a metal insert 60. It is obvious that the dis cha ge Openings at one side of the container will be open in use while the discharge openings on the other side will be in their closed position.

It is important to understand that this feature of the invention will assure proper supply of the shaving cream to the discharge openings even though the container is not completely full of shaving cream. This is important because it is obvious that the device should operate as well when it is partially full as well as when it is completely full of shaving cream.

In order to refill the container, there is provided an opening in the lower regions of the container, this opening having a knurled cap 50 which may be removed from the container and the screw threaded end of a shaving cream tube may be inserted in the opening, whereupon the tube may be squeezed for emptying its contents into the shaving cream dispenser contemplated by this invention.

From the foregoing disclosure, it can be seen that I have provided a combination shaving cream dispenser and razor holder which efiiciently fulfills the objects hereinbefore set forth and provides numerous advantages which may be summarized as follows:

A shaving cream dispenser comprising: a bulbularshaped container having atop and a bottom including side and end walls, means in said container for accommodating a conventional razor provided with handle means, said container having adjacent the upper regions of each of said side walls means defining apertures, slidable gate means manually operable and effective to open and close said apertures, and means manually rotatable and adapted to receive end portions of the handle of said razor effective to rotate said handle portions responsive to manual rotation of said rotatable means.

For a having eam d spenser having a bulbularshaped container having a top and .a bottom including resilient side and end walls: means in said container for accommodating .a conventional razor, said container having adjacent the upper regions of each of said side walls means defining apertures, and slidable gate means manually operable and efifective to open and close said apertures so that the contents of said container may be removed therefrom through said apertures responsive to a squeezing manual force applied to the walls of said container when said slidable gate means is in its'open position.

3. A shaving cream dispenser comprising: a bulbularshaped container having a top and bottom including side and end walls, said end walls being resilient permitting collapse of said container responsive to manual force upon said side walls, said container having adjacent the upper regions of each of said side walls means defining apertures, tongue-shaped walls respectively disposed adjacent the inner surfaces of said side walls and in spaced relationship thereto, said bulbular-shaped container being adapted to contain shaving cream and the like, and said contents of said container being adapted to be forced from said container through said apertures responsive to the manual force applied to said side walls.

4. A combination shaving cream dispenser and razor holder comprising: means defining a container for said shaving cream, means defining a tubular chamber passing through the central regions of said container and adapted to accommodate the handle of said razor, said razor having gate and blade ejection means operable responsive to rotation of the handle, said container adjacent the lower regions of said tubular chamber having manually rotatable means adapted to accommodate rotatable portions of said razor-handle, the walls of said container being resilient, and at least two opposed walls of said container having means definingapertures, the contents of said container being adapted to be removed from said conta'inerthrough said apertures responsive to manual force applied to the walls of said container.

5. For a shaving cream dispenser defining a bulbularshaped container having a top and bottom including side and end walls, the end walls being resilient permitting collapse of said container responsive to manual force upon said side walls, and said container having adjacent the upper regions of each of said side walls means defining apertures: tongue-shaped walls respectively disposed adjacent the inner surfaces of said side walls and in spaced relationship thereto, said bulbular-shaped container being adapted to contain shaving cream and the like, and said contents of said container being adapted to be forced from said container through said apertures responsive to manual force applied to said side walls.
