Description
March 1956 c. RODRIGUEZ FOUNTAIN BAG SUPPORT INVENTOR. 61,. A fr,
Filed July 26,
United States Patent FOUNTAIN BAG SUPPORT Camilo Rodriguez, Warwick, R. I., assiguor to Davol Rubber Company, a corporation of Rhode Island Application July 26, 1954, Serial No. 445,878
2 Claims. (Cl. 150-21) The present invention relates to fountain syringes and the like, and has reference to a fountain bag construction therefor.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a fountain bag or the like which has an integral suction support.
Another object of the invention is to provide a suction support for a fountain bag or the like with separable gripping liners having tacky contact surfaces.
With the above and other objects and advantageous features in view, the invention consists of a novel arrangement of parts more specifically disclosed in the detailed description following, in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, and more specifically defined in the claims appended thereto.
In the drawings,
Fig. l is a rear view of an illustrative fountain bag construction embodying the invention;
Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse section therethrough;
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a disposable liner for the suction support of Fig. 1; and
Fig. 4 is an enlarged section of the liner of Fig. 3 as packaged.
It has been found desirable to provide a fountain bag which may be secured to a wall of a bathroom or the like at any desired height. To this end, I have formed the fountain bag with an integral suction support which may be applied to a vertical wall surface to hold the fountain bag at the proper height for obtaining a desired flow pressure and volume.
Referring to the drawings, the fountain bag illustratively disclosed in Fig. 1 has the usual hollow body 11 for holding fountain liquid, a funnel inlet 12 for facilitating filling of the hollow body, and a bottom outlet connection 13 to which a fountain tube, enema tube, or the like may be attached in usual manner. The body 11 has its rear wall 14 provided with a suction support 15 of flexible material and with a cone shaped cup 16 having an outwardly extending peripheral or rim tab 17 which is manually graspable, and a base which is integrally joined to the rear wall 14 of the fountain bag body, the bag 10 and the support 15 being preferably molded of resilient material or synthetic rubber or of plastic material having the resilient properties of rubber as a one-piece article.
The support 15 may be directly attached to any smooth wall surface such as tile in a bath room wall; pressing the cup flat against the smooth wall will hold the bag in place during its use, removal of the bag from the wall being accomplished by lifting a portion of the support cup edge, as by pulling the tab 17.
The above described construction is suitable for use with tiled bathroom walls. When the available walls are of plaster, wood, or other material having a relatively rough surface, it is desirable to ensure a more positive releasable lock. To this end, I provide a coneshaped cup liner 19, see Fig. 3, preferably of paper or of light plastic, which has a rim tab 20 and is coated on the inner and outer surface with a releasably gripping material 21 such as masking tape adhesive, the gripping material being normally covered by paper surface layers 22, 23, having rim tabs 24, 25, whereby the layers are readily removed by pulling the tabs 24, 25 and the liner is then set into the support cup 16. The support 15 is then readily mounted on a wall section, and release therefrom is facilitated by the rim tab 17.
Although I have disclosed a specific embodiment of the invention, it is obvious that changes in the size, shape and arrangement of the parts may be made to meet dilferent fountain bag requirements, without departing from the spirit or the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
I claim:
1. A suction support integrally carried by a fountain bag or the like, said support having a base and a coneshaped cup, the rim of the cup having an integral, peripheral, outwardly extending, manually graspable tab, the free extremity of said tab normally being disposed rearwardly of the plane of the cup rim.
2. A suction support as set forth in claim 1 further characterized by the addition of a cone-shaped liner for said cup having releasable adhesive material on its outer and inner surfaces.
