(Cl. 224-29 This invention relates to a portable golf ball and tee holder and more specifically provides a device that may be detachably connected to a golf cart handle wherein the golfing tees and balls may be retained in readily accessible position and the device may be easily detached therefrom for transporting to any desired location.

An object of this invention is to provide a portable golf ball and tee holder which is simple in construction, easy to attach and detach, convenient, well adapted for its intended purposes, and relatively inexpensive to manufacture.

Another object of this invention is to provide a portable golf ball and tee holder that is detachably secured to a conventional golf cart handle wherein a plurality of golfing tees may be frictionally retained in an elongated resilient member having apertures therein.

Still another important object of the presentinvention is to provide a portable golf ball and tee holder conforming to the preceding objects wherein spaced resilient members are arranged on the device for detachably retaining a golf ball in readily accessible position.

These together with other objects and advantages which will become subsequently apparent reside in the details of construction and operation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings forming a part hereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:

Figure l is a top plan view of the golf ball and tee holder of the present invention secured to a conventional golf cart handle;

Figure 2 is a transverse, vertical sectional view taken substantially upon a plane passing along section line 22 of Figure 1 showing the details of construction of the device of the present invention; and

Figure 3 is a perspective view showing the details of the construction of the elongated flexible resilient member for detachable attachment to the plate of the ball and tee holder wherein the flexible resilient member retains the golfing tees frictionally.

Referring now specifically to the drawings, it will be seen that the numeral generally designates the portable golf ball and tee holder of the present invention for attachment to a golf cart handle 12. The portable golf ball and tee holder 10 of the present invention includes a generally elongated plate 14 that is arcuate in cross-section for positioning around a portion of the periphery of the cart handle 12. A plurality of cushion members 16 are positioned adjacent the remote corners of the plate 14 for engaging the handle 12 to prevent damage thereto. Each corner of the plate 14 is also provided with reversely bent tabs 18 for receiving a resilient band 20 having slots 22 in each end thereof for positioning over the tabs 18 wherein the plate 14 is retained against the handle 12 with the cushions 16 spacing the plate 14 therefrom. By removing the resilient band 20 from any of the tabs 18, the plate 14 may be removed from the handle 12. Each edge of the plate 14 is provided with slightly downturned projections 24 that tend to retain the cushions 16 in position. A slot 26 is positioned centrally in the plate 14 and a right angular spring 28 has a short leg portion extending therethrough and attached to the undersurface of the plate 14, substantially as indicated by the numeral 30. The spring 28 is provided with an outwardly flared portion for actuation in opposition to a ring 32 of substantially resilient material wherein the ring 32 is provided with an oifset portion that extends through the plate and is secured thereto, wherein a golf ball may be positioned within the ring 32 and held therein by the spring member 28. It will be seen that the diameter of the ring 32 is slightly less than the diameter of a conventional golf ball wherein the spring 28 will retain the golf ball within the ring 32.

At one side of the plate 14 is a plurality of pointed projections 34 wherein the projections are longitudinally spaced and aligned with the end projections extending in diverging relation. An elongated flexible resilient member 36 is provided with a plurality of longitudinally spaced and aligned apertures 38 and a plurality of aligned and spaced longitudinal eye members 40 wherein the eye members 40 are spaced similar to the projections 34 for engagement thereover wherein the resiliency of the flexible member 36 will retain the end eye members 40 in contact with the end projection 34. The apertures 38 in the flexible resilient member 36 receive and frictionally retain tapered golfing tees 42 wherein the golfing tees 42 are retained in readily accessible position.

Obviously, a plurality of the golf ball holding means may be provided, if desired, and the particular length of the components of the device may be varied for adapting the device for holding various numbers of golfing tees and golf balls. Further, the golf ball holding portion of the invention together with the plate may be constructed of any suitable plastic, metal or other durable materials that are rust resistant and relatively light and strong. Further, the cushion element 16 provides a spacing arrangement wherein the device may be secured to golf cart handles 12 having various shapes and sizes. Further, it will be understood that other types of securing means may be utilized in place of the flexible resilient band 20 that is preferably constructed of rubber or other resilient materials.

From the foregoing, the construction and operation of the device will be readily understood and further explanation is believed to be unnecessary. However, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the appended claims.

What is claimed as new is as follows:

1. A golf ball tee holder comprising an elongated plate, spaced projections on said plate, a flexible member secured to said projections and extending therebetween, said flexible member having a plurality of spaced apertures for receiving golfing tees, said flexible member being resilient and provided with eye members at the remote ends for positioning over the projections wherein the flexible member is detachable from the plate projections and frictionally retains the tees in the apertures.

2. A golf ball tee holder comprising an elongated plate, spaced projections on said plate; a flexible member secured to said projections and extending therebetween, said flexible member having a plurality of spaced apertures for receiving golfing tees, said plate being arcuate in cross-section for engaging a golf cart handle, and means for detachably retaining the plate on the golf cart handle.

3. A golf ball tee holder comprising an elongated jections having a tapering surface with the end projections extending in diverging relation.
