1 Claim.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements and structural refinements in devices for holding and displaying socks, stockings, etc., and the principal object of the invention is to provide a very simple but highly aesthetic device of the character herein described, which is very simple in construction, pleasing in appearance, which will accommodate socks of different sizes and which will readily lend itself to economical manufacture.

With the above more important objects and features in View and such other objects and features as may become apparent as this specification proceeds, the invention consists essentially of the arrangement and construction of parts as illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 1 is a top plan view of the invention;

Figure 2 is a front elevational view thereof, and,

Figure 3 is a side view of the same.

Like characters of reference are employed to designate like parts in the specification and throughout the several views.

Referring now to the accompanying drawings in detail, the invention consists of a display holder for socks, or the like, the holder being designated generally by the reference character I and being formed integrally from a single piece of material, preferably transparent thermoplastic material, such as by molding.

The holder I 0 embodies in its construction a substantially U-shaped base member l2 including spaced upper and lower horizontal panels I4, I 6, respectively, and a convex bight portion I8 which connects the panels [4, l6 at the front of the base member, as shown.

An upwardly and forwardly extending sock supporting member 20, configurated substantially as shown, is provided at the rear edge of the upper panel l4 and has a tapered upper portion 22 terminating in a rounded extremity 24.

When the invention is placed in use, the holder I 0 is positioned with the base member l2 resting on a suitable supporting surface, and a sock (not shown) is installed on the member 20 so as to be effectively displayed. The member 20 is inclined laterally as well as forwardly (see Figures 1 and 2) and a lower portion 25 of the member 20 having a convex edge, is indented to accommodate the heel of the sock while the tapered upper portion 22 of the member 29 fits into the toe.

If desired, the holder may be provided for mounting purposes with a plurality of apertures 28, 30, 32.

It is believed that the advantages and the use of the invention will be readily understood from the foregoing disclosure and accordingly, further description thereof at this point is deemed unnecessary.

While in the foregoing there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of this invention it is to be understood that minor changes in the details of construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

A display holder for socks, said holder being formed integrally from a single piece of material and comprising a substantially U-shaped base member including spaced upper and lower horizontal panels and a convex bight portion connecting said panels at the front of the base member, and an upwardly and forwardly extending sock supporting member provided at the rear edge of the upper panel of the base member, said sock supporting member being laterally inclined and having a tapered upper portion terminating in a rounded extremity.
