Description
I/IIVE/WOR Oct. 6, 1953 1.. TE STRAKE DEVICE FOR CONFINING THE THREAD BALLOON WITH A PAY-OFF BOBBIN Filed April 27, 1950 400719597713 If sum/(6 Ay- [Vern/emf, lilgp H k4 Fatented Get. 6, 1953 OFFICE DEVICE FOR CONFININ G THE THREAD BALLOON WITH A PAY- OFF BOBBIN Lambertus te Strake, Deurne, Netherlands 1950, Serial No. 158,506
Application April 27, In the Netherland 1 Claim.
The invention relates to a device for confining the thread balloon with paying-off bobbins of creels in which a guiding member, e. g. ring, is provided for guiding the thread.
When pulling off the thread from paying-off bobbins or cones ballooning is caused by the centrifugal force. For restricting this balloon a guiding member is applied in order that the cones can be placed near to each other.
When during the warping of the threads the warping machine stops, e. g. with thread rupture, a few windings will still be thrown from the cones.
Especially if the warping takes place with great velocity this often occurs. When the machine stops there is no tension any more on the threads and the windings hanging loose at various cones readily come into contact with each other.
When again putting the machine into operation the tangled windings again will cause thread rupture. Especially when warping strongly twined yarns, such as crape, the windings hanging loose, will twist in each other directly.
The purpose of the invention is to remove the above objections by confining the balloon formed during the warping and by catching up the windings which have been cast loose.
According to the invention this is attained in that the guiding member possesses an enlarged part at least at the lower side, in which the thread when it is slack, is caught up.
A practical embodiment of the device is obtained according to the invention in that the part for catching up the thread extends along the circumferential surface of the paying-off bobbin and extends to the thread-eye of the guide of a creel with which it is associated.
The invention will be elucidated by an embodiment shown in the drawing in which a side view of a bobbin provided with a device according to the invention is illustrated.
The device consists of a cone or paying-01f bobbin I and the thread-eye 2.
When payings September 27, 1949 (Cl. 242-128) off the yarn a balloon will be formed between the thread-eye 2 and the bobbin I, and the thread will run along the dotted line 3. The device 4 for confining the thread consequently lies as a ring around the balloon.
When the warping machine stops and the tension of the thread falls off a few windings will still be cast off from the bobbin and they are caught up by the enlarged parts 5 and 6. The thread is here indicated by a dotted line 3.
The device is so constructed that nowhere projecting or sharp parts are present, in which the thread can catch, while the view on the cones is maintained and further manipulations can readily be done.
I claim:
A device for confining the thread balloon with horizontally supported paying-off bobbins of creels which device has a, thread-eye axially spaced from the bobbin, comprising a standing tubular guide member concentric to the horizontal axis of the paying-01f bobbin for guiding the thread, said guide member having a length corresponding to the distance between the thread-eye and the support of the bobbin, one side of the circumferential surface of said memher with respect to the axis of the bobbin being cut away except in the center section thereof.
