Referring more in detail to the drawings:

I designates a recipe le embodying the features of my invention and consisting of a support or rack 2 having a plurality oi pocket members or card holders 3 pivotally and removably mounted on the support in spaced overlapping relation. The support may be laid on a horizontal surface, however, it is particularly designed to be mounted on the wall of a room whereby the pocket members are in a vertical column or series. The

Each of the-tongues is curved upwardly :and 'rearwardly Ato cooperate with-'thereafr "wall to form afseat Ifadapted 5to closely engage .la :pocket 'member supporting 'fbar or'rod I'S. ."Ifh'e'upperends `11 lolfthetongues are spaced from the front face I4 of the wall 4 slightly less than the thickness of the rod I6 and the tongues have some resiliency whereby the rods may be pushed through the space between the tongue ends Il and the Wall 4 into the seats I5, and the resiliency of the tongues retains the rod in place. The rods I6 are preferably slightly shorter than the spacing between the side walls 'I and 8 whereby when the rods are located in the seats I5 the side walls limit longitudinal movement of the rods and prevent removal except through the space between the ends of the tongues and the wall 4.

The pocket members 3 preferably are formed of sheet material, such as paper or the like, suitably folded and glued or stitched to form the pocket for containing recipes or the like. The pocket members may be constructed in the man ner of an ordinary envelope or as illustrated wherein the sheet of material is folded as at I8 to provide a front wall I9 overlying a rear wall 2B. The adjacent side edges of the front and rear walls are secured together by adhesive and/or stitching and the upper edge of the front ap is unsecured to provide an opening 2| through which cards, clippings or the like may be inserted into the pocket formed between the front and rear Walls.

The rear wall is provided with an extension or flap 22 which is folded rearwardly and secured as at 23 to the rear wall by suitable adhesive and/or stitching to form a loop 24 of suitable sizeY to receive the bar I6 therein and permit the pocket member to be moved around .the bar.`V

Slots 25 are `cut in the loop portion of the iiap in the same spaced relation interfere with pivotal movement of the pocket member when the pocket member carrying rod is located in the seats l formed by the tongues I3, as illustrated in Fig. 2.

In assembling `the recipe le from elements constructed as described, the rods i6 are inserted and moved into the'loops 24 of the pocket members 3. A rod with the pocket member thereon is then placed in engagement with the rear wall 4 yof the support 2 adjacent a pair of tongues 13, with said tongues aligned with the slots 25. The rod is then pressed through the space between the ends Il of the Vtongues and the wall 4, whereby the tongues move through the slots and the rod engages in the seats i5. The pocket members 3 are narrower than the spacing between the side walls 1 andB whereby said pocket members may be moved therebetween and pivoted about the rod i6.

Additional pocket members are assembled on the support 2 in the same manner to provide a vertical series of overlapping pocket members as shown in Fig. 1. When it is desired to have access to one of the lower pocket members, the other pocket members thereabove are raised and pivoted around the respective rod I6 to expose the open upper end 2| of the respective pocketl member and recipes or the like inserted therein or removed therefrom as desired. Also the entire pocket member may be removed from the support by pushing uwardly on the respective rod i6Y to move same between the ends l1 of the tongues and the wall 4 to disengage the rod from said tongues. Also if the pocket members become worn they may be replaced in the same manner.

It will be obvious fromthe foregoing that lfv have provided an improved le for recipes, cards and the like, giving easy access to the contents as' the tongues I3, whereby said tongues enter the slots and do not v l of the pocket members and also facilitating systematic filing of recipes and the like, said structure being economical to manufacture and easily maintained for eflicient use. Y

What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1n a device of the character described, an open front support having a rear wall and spaced forwardly extending side walls thereon, a plurality of pocket members formed of sheet material with the respective ends folded and secured to form a pocket having an open upper end and an open sided loop portion parallel and adjacent said open upper end of the pocket, said pocket members being of less width than the spacing of the Y side walls `for free movement of said members therebetween and having a plurality of laterally spaced Yslots extending' into the loop portion from Y Number the folded edge forming said loop portion, a rod removably and loosely mounted in the respective loop portions of each pocket member and extending through the open sides thereof substantially to the side walls whereby said side walls limit endwise movement of said rods, and a plurality of horizontally aligned resilient tongues integral with the rear wall and arranged in vertical series thereon between the side walls, said tongues being curved forwardly, upwardly and rearwardly and terminating in forwardly spaced relation to the rear wall with said spacing less than the thickness of the rod whereby the curved portion of thetongues form seats between the tongues and rear wall for resiliently receiving the rods, said horizontally aligned tongues being of a size and spacing to correspond with the respective slots in the pocket members and extend therethrough in releasable engagement with the respective rods for mounting the pocket members on the support in overlapped relation whereby the pocket members have limited endwise movement and pivot on the rods for access to the next lower pocket member.
