The primary object of this invention is to provide an improved baby jumper or exerciser which shall have an improved and easy adjustment for regulating the height of the apparatus to accommodate infants of different size; which shall have an improved seating or supporting member attached to the device in a removable and improved manner; and in which the seat shall comfortably conform to and embrace the body of a child and yet may be readily removed for servicing, cleansing or the like. These, together with various ancillary features and objects of the invention, which will later become apparent as the following description proceeds, are attained by the present invention, a preferred embodiment of which has been illus-v trated, by way of example only, in the accom panying drawings, wherein:

Figure 3 is an exploded perspective view of a portion of the cross bar and the supporting strap of the seat portion.

Referring now more specifically to the accompanying drawings, wherein like numerals designate similar parts throughout the various views, it will be apparent that the apparatus forming the subject of this invention consists of a resilient supporting means together with a removable seat portion. r V

38 and 40 which, at their lower ends, are respectively secured to the front and rear portions of a flexible belt 42 which is adapted to encircle the body of a baby and may be constructed of any desired material. Although not limited thereto, the belt may conveniently be formed of rubber, canvas, khaki or similar materials. The upper edge of the belt is notchedor cut away as at 44 to provide a pair of recesses adapted to comfortably receive the arms of the infant.

The seat portion further includes a crotch strap 46 whose rear end is stitched or otherwise fixedly secured to the mid-portion of the rear part of the belt 42, this strap being adapted to be passed through the crotch of the infant and being secured to the front portion of the belt by safety Pins or the like as shown at 48.

From the foregoing, it will be apparent that by removing the bolts 30 and wing nuts 32, the supporting straps 36 together with the seat portion may be readily removed from the cross arm 22' to facilitate cleaning or servicing of the seat portion. Further, the strap or belt It may be readily varied in length by the buckle of the same to properly position the device at any desired eleva-- tion to accommodate different sizes of children.

From the foregoing, the construction and operation of the device will be readily understood and further explanation is believed to be unnece essary. However, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction shown and described, and accordingly all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the appended claims.

Having described the claimed as new is: i

1. A baby jumper comprising a resilient support and a flexible baby seat mounted on said support, said support including a cross bar, straps securing the ends of said cross bar to said flexible seat, the ends of said cross bar having open ended slots, said straps having closed loops at their mid-portions received in said slots and closely surrounding adjacent portions of said invention, what is slots 24 are closed to there- 3 cross bar; removable fasteners connecting together portions of said cross bar disposed on opposite sides of said slots for closing the open ends of said slots and retaining said straps in said slots.

2. A baby jumper comprising a resilient support and a flexible baby seat mounted on said support, said baby seat comprising a flexible band for embracing the body of a baby, a flexible crotch strap secured to saidfiexible band at the rear of said seat, a pair of "supporting straps each having one end secured by common securing means to said flexible band above and ad'- jacent said crotch strap connection, the other ends of said supporting straps being secured to said flexible band in spaced relation at the front of said seat, removable securing means securing together the ends of said flexible band to form an endless band, said removable securing means also securing the other end of the crotch strap to; said flexible band, said supportjincluding'a; cross. bar, said supporting straps securing the ends :of said cross bar to said flexibleseat, the.
