The sofa bedr also includes a back rest I5 which is adapted to be arranged in yforwardly disposed inclined relation ,for useooi the sofa bed as a couch. Y
In order to rigidly support the back rest in :for-* wardly inclined relation and to permit ofthe convenient movement thereofto an out-o'f-theway position when the sofabed is tobe used as a bed is used 'as a couch. The said studs are adapted to 'abut against the upper ends of said slots to provide a limit position for disposing the back rest in the out-of-the-way position above the rear Wall II and when in such position the l 3 links 26 prevent unintentional movement of the back rest to the forwardly inclined position.
Constructed in this manner, a sofa bed is provided which may be used as a double bed or as a couch and which provides a convenient compartment 33 at the rear of the back rest l5 for storing bed clothes and the like when the sofa bed is used as a couch. Y
The mattress I 4 may be supported-in any desired manner such as by a box spring indicated generally by the reference character 33 disposed upon the bottom panel 34 of the furniture framel l0.
