Admittedly, it is old in the art to utilize an openwork rack and to support the same atop a ground anchored post or equivalent support. It is an object of the instant invention to structurally, functionally and otherwise improve upon known types of holders having the structural characteristics broadly stated.

Another object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved knock-down holder. Usually, holders in this field of endeavor, have fingers and other types of bracket means atop the upright or post and the parts are fixed together. It is more desirable to make the individual parts separate and to be abl to assemble them on the job and in this way to better solve the problem of packing, shipping and otherwise handling. It is consequently, an important achievement in the instant matter to provide a knock-down pail holder construction.

A more general object is to structurally and functionally improve on prior art devices and to provide a structure in which manufacturers and users will find their primary needs fully met, contained and satisfactorily available.

Briefly summarized, the invention comprises a tubular post or equivalent upright and several insertable and removable especially designed fixtures. The latter are assembled in circumferentially spaced relation and are capable of being installed and erected with requisite When fully assembled and erected the complete holder constitutes a satisfactory stand for trash cans, buckets, garbage pails and the like.

Other objects and advantages will become more readily apparent from the following description and the accompanying sheet of illustrative drawings.

or removed and by being separately constructed and assembled they solve, as stated, the manufacturers problem of simple handling, packaging and shipping. Each fixture is the same in construction and there are several of-them and they are denoted by the numerals 8, l0 and I2. Since each fixture is the same in construction,

a description of one will suifice for all. 'Reference is had, therefore, to Figure 3 which shows a fixture constructed essentially from a length of wire rod of appropriate gauge. The main portion is approximately L-shaped and includes a horizontal limb l2 and a vertical limb M, the two limbs joined by a bendable joint l6. By making the metal bendable, the vertical limb l4 may be adjusted toward or from the axial center of the post in order to accommodate buckets and pails of different diameters, shapes, and sizes. An arcuate brace of appropriate curvature and dimensions and denoted at I8 is secured to the upper end of the vertical limb. This is adapted to conform to and satisfactorily embrace the pail A. The inner end of the radial or horizontal arm I2 is provided with a depending adapter extension 20 and this is adapted to telescope into the upper end of the tubular upright and it is provided with a V-shaped adapter clip 22. By bringing the several clips together into a cluster they abut one another in hub-like form as best shown in Figure 2. It is obvious, ofcourse, that the adapter extensions-20 are welded or otherwise joined at 24 to the crotch portions of the respective adapter clips. With the clips nested together the several fixtures are attached and provide a three-way rack for the can or pail.

One of the fixtures or brackets, the one denoted at It for example, is provided with a hanger hook which is Welded in place in the manner shown. The hook 26 provides a suitable support for the lid or cover B of the pail.

It follows, therefore, that the several rack constructing fixtures are'independent and insertable and removable and when applied provide the assembly shown in the drawings. This, in turn, provides satisfactory holding rack for the pail.

It is thought that persons skilled in the art to which the invention relates will be able to obtain a clear understanding of the invention after considering the description in connection with the drawings. Therefore, a more lengthy description is regarded as unnecessary.

Minor changes in the shape, size and arrangement of details coming within the field of invention claimed may be resorted to in actual practice, if desired.

Having described the claimed as new is:

1. As a new article of manufacture, a readily attachable and detachable bracket for use in association with the rack assembly of a stand-type garbage pail support comprising a rigid wire rod bent between its ends to provide horizontal and vertical limbs, the free end of the vertical limb invention, what is being provided with a rigid arcuate pail embraccumferentially spaced rack forming brackets wherein each bracket is readily attachable to and detachable from said upright, said brackets having horizontal radial limb portions and said limb portions being provided at their coasting inner adjacent ends with depending terminals, and a substantially V-shaped adapter clip for each terminal said terminal being located in the crotch portion of the clip and being permanently attached to the clip, all of said clips being clustered together with their complemental portions in direct frictional engagement with each other, and said clustered assemblage of clips fitting, as a unit, telescopically and removably in the upper end portion of the axial bore of said upright, said clips having binding frictional engagement with the wall of said bore, and said limb portions resting on the upper end of said upright.
