This invention relates to toilet step-ups for children, or in other words the invention relates to a toilet accessory in the way of a step and connected hand rails adapted for positioning at and around a conventional toilet-stool for facilitating the use of the stool by small children.

'The principal object of the invention is to provide an accessory of the kind referred to which maybe removably positioned at and around a conventional toilet seat, and wherein is included at the frontal side astep for the use of a child in seating himself upon the stool, side arms or rails for the use of the child extended from the step-up accessory, and legs and basal supports for maintaining the step-up accessory in proper position at the toilet stool.

Another object of the invention is to provide, in a toilet accessory of the kind referred to, a U-shaped foot-board or step-board for partial encirclement of a conventional toilet stool at its front and sides and in elevated relation to the floor, supporting elements or legs extended downward from the U-shaped foot board and adapted to bear upon the floor for supporting the foot board in proper operative position at the toilet stool, and side arms or rails extended upwardly at the sides of the foot-board for facilitating the use of the step-up accessory by a child or children.

With the stated objects in view, together with such other and additional objects as may appear from the specification, attention is directed to the accompanying drawing a exemplifying a preferred embodiment of the invention, and wherein:

Figure l is a perspective view showing a toilet stool step-up accessory of the kind referred to, as mounted in operative position upon and around a conventional form of toilet stool.

Figure 2 is a rear end elevation of the lower portion of the assembly shown in Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a horizontal section on the line 3--3 of Figure 2.

In practising this invention I provide a flat U-shaped step-board represented generally in the drawing at 5, this step-board being cut out centrally through its rear margin as shown at 5a to form a stool engaging opening, and whereby the step-board is adapted for positioning horizontally and medially over and laterally around a conventional toilet stool such as shown at A in the drawing.

As thus formed and positioned upon the toilet stool A, in its elevated relation to the floor and base of the stool, the device presents a frontal 2 step 51) andlaterally extended side-steps 5c, and this step-board 5 as thus formed and mounted at the stool A, is supported in operative position thereat by the legs and leg-loops now to be described.

These legs and leg-loops are represented generally at 6 in the drawing, and are formed of rodiron or tough wood orany other suitable material for the purpose, this material being formed, bent, looped and extended for the purpose and being connected at the upper margins and ends thereof to the under side of the U-shaped stepboard 5. These legs and leg-loops 6 include the laterally positioned U -shaped elements 5a mounted at the under lateral margins of the side-steps 5c, and for which mounting the rearwardly disposed upturned ends 6b are anchored at to the rear corners of the side-step 5C, while the forwardly disposed and correspondingly upturned portions or ends 6d of these elements are transversely joined together in their laterally aligned and spaced relation by the frontal crossrod (ie as connected with the upturned ends of the portions 6d, either integrally or otherwise, and as indicated at 6] in Figure 1. This frontal cros rod Se is anchored along and under the forward margin of the frontal step 5b as a reinforcement and support for this step. As an additional support for this step 51) an auxiliary U-shaped pair of legs 6g is provided and is anchored by the bight portion thereof, (in, medially to the frontal cross tie, with the legs 6g extended perpendicularly downward for contacting the floor. Similar auxiliary and U-shaped pairs of legs 67c are anchored by their bight portions 6m laterally to the under sides of the margins of the opening 5a of the step-board 5, with the legs 67c extended perpendicularly downward for contacting the floor, for reinforcing and supporting the laterally extended side-steps 5c.

Side-arms or rails 7 are provided, the same in- Cllldil'lg integrally joined frontal and rear sup porting legs la, lb, thus integrally connected by the upwardly positioned and horizontally extended bight portions to, and anchored respectively to the outer frontal corners of the stepboard 5 and to the inner corners of the side-steps 50, a indicated at Id in the drawing. The bight portions 1c of the side arms '7 are turned angularly inward at their rear ends as indicated at id, for properly clearing the toilet stool A. These bight portions ic thus are elevated to a proper height above the step-board 5 for providing and forming the convenient side arms I for the use of the child in using the toilet step-up accessory. From the rear legs 1b a stabilizing loop of material as indicated at 8 is extended out and around the flush pipe B of the stool A, and another and similar loop 9 is extended from these legs outwardly and horizontally around the said stool A, whereby this step-up accessory is efficiently secured to the toilet stool A, in operative position for use. i

The lower end of the described legs and the lower bight portions of the leg loops are of course all arranged to lie in a common horizontal plane, for uniform contact with the floor; rubber socket elements It! may be provided at the lower ends of the legs, and the bight portions of the leg loops 6 may be secured to the floor by means of strap loops l I.

It is thought that the construction and use of the invention will be fully understood from the foregoing description, and while I have here shown and described a specific form of the invention and particular structural features thereof, it is understood that the specific embodiment of the invention as here shown may be varied as desired in minor details of construction, not departing however from the generic principles of the invention as expressed in the following claim.

I claim:

In a toilet step-up accessory for children, wherein is included a conventional U-shaped step-board formed for horizontally encircling the front and sides of a toilet stool in upwardly spaced relation to the base thereof-a rod-struc- 4 ture frame for supporting the U-shaped stepboard, the same including frontal and rear leg elements extended downward for bearing upon the floor at the base of the toilet stool, a rod connected at its ends with the upper end of the frontal leg elements and extended horizontally underneath the frontal margin of the U-shaped step-board and anchored thereto, rods connected at their ends, at each side of the frame, to the lower ends of the frontal and rear leg elements, for contacting the floor, straps positioned over the ends of these floor rods for anchoring same to the floor, frontal and rear side-arm supporting legs anchored at each side of the U- shaped step-board to the margins of the stepboard, and side arms connected at their ends to the upper ends of side-arm supporting legs and extended horizontally and laterally of the stepboard.
