Each adhesive bandage in itself is of the iamiliar type, comprising a strip of adhesive tape I (Figures 2, 3v and 3+A) the adhesive side of which carries a central gauze pad 2, the exposed adhesiveand the gauze pad being protected by overlapping pieces of crinoline 3 and 4. The adhesive bandage is enclosed in an individual wrapper 5 of glassine paper or the like, which is sealed longitudinally. rby adhesive 6. The ends of each wrapper 5 may also be sealed individually but this is unnecessary in the package of the inven-v tion, the closure thereof being otherwise provided for, as later described. y
The envelope comprises rectangular bottom and top sheets of paper, I0 and II respectively, the upper sheet II being perforated centrally alongv the line I2 (Figure 1)' to permit tearing open the package so that theupper sheets unfolds into two halves I3 and I4 (Figure 2), providing access to the interior. The vbottom and top layers of the envelope are sealed together by adhesive I9 running all along lthe edges of the package and underlying the crimped or compressed areas 20, 2|, 22, 23 adjacent the four edges. `The adhesive along the side edgesl 20 and 2| of the package also enters into the otherwise open ends of the bandage packages A to F inclusive, closing and sealing the same.

The adhesive spots 25 are preferably of nonsterilizable glue which will be partially or wholly inactivated during sterilization, thus permitting easy removal of the individual packages A to F when the package is open. The individual packages A to F may also be enclosed in wrappers 5 of wax paper or the like, which is stuck temporarily to the layer IIJ by the application of heat and becomes loose upon the sterilization of the entire package. While it is preferred as above stated for conveniencein manufacture that the top and bottom sheets Ill and I I, which form the envelope, be joined by adhesive around all four edges and be otherwise separate sheets, it will be apparent that a single sheet of double the width and folded so as to eliminate the need for sealingalong one or both of the edges could be utilized without departing from the invention in its broader aspect.
What is claimed is: j
1. A package of adhesive bandages or the like comprising a rect/angular envelope formed oi a pair of flat rectangular sheets joined together by adhesive around all four edges, and an aligned row of individually wrapped packages within the envelope and having their Wrappers joined thereto by 4the adhesive at the side edges thereof, and the individual packages being spaced apart and the end packages of the row being spaced from the end of the envelope by distances greater than the distance between packages.

A package of adhesive bandages or the like comprising a rectangular envelope formed of a 'pair of flat rectangular sheets joined together by adhesive around all four edges, and an aligned row of individually wrapped packages within the envelope and having their wrappers joined thereto by the adhesive at the side edges thereof, and the said adhesive being sterilizable and the individual packages being also attached to one of the said sheets intermediate its side edges by inactivated non-sterilizable adhesive.

A package of adhesive bandages or the like comprising a rectangular envelope formed of a pair of flat rectangular sheets joined together by adhesive around all four edges, and an aligned row of individually wrapped packages within the envelope and having their wrappers joined thereto by the adhesive at the side edges thereof, and the said adhesive being sterilizable and the packages being also attached to the other of the 4. A package of adhesive bandages or the like comprising a rectangular envelope having upper and lower layers meeting along an edge and along the ends of the envelope, a plurality of individual packages each having a wrapper and arranged spaced apart and side by side, in an aligned row within the envelope, and adhesive joining the individual packages to the envelope and sealing the layers of the envelope together along the said edge and along the ends of the envelope, the individual packages adjacent the ends of the envelope being spaced therefrom by a distance greater than the distance between the individual packages.
