This invention relates to mixing and emulsifying devices.
One of the objects of my invention is to provide an emulsifier device of the character described whereby a continuous supply of suitable liquid mixture may be emulsified and substantiall simultaneously taken off or dispensed.
Another object of my invention is to provide in an emulsifying device of thecharacter described the combination of agitator propellers in a cham-. ber, the walls of which are provided with a plurality of sharp pointed projections designed to rupture the fat globules in the mixture whereby the process of emulsifying is greatly speeded up.
Still another object of my invention is to provide an emulsifier device which shall comprise relatively few and simple parts, which shall be relatively inexpensive to manufacture. which shall be easy to assemble and operate and which at the same time shall represent a general improvement in the art.
Other objects of my invention will become apparent as the description of the operation thereof proceeds or will hereafter be more fully pointed out. f

Fig. 6 is an enlarged cross-sectional view taken substantially along the line 6-6 of Fig. 1.
Referring now in detail to the drawings I have shown an emulsifier device constructed and arranged in accordance with my invention and comprising a hollow main body member I having a top wall H, a surrounding side wall I2, and open at the bottom. The side wall |2 at its lower end is provided with areduced diameter portion I4 which may be externally threaded and which is threaded to a base member having I an upwardly extending internally threaded wall portion I6. The base member I5 is provided with an impervious transverse upper Wall lfic. It is thus seen that there is provided;

It is thus seen that whenthe receptacle 29 is supplied with the mixture to be emulsified, the mixing chamber H will be filled through the opening 25. v
The following means are employed for mixing and emulsifying the contents of the mixing. cham- Fixed to the upper end of the shaft 4| by any suitable manner such as for example by having a portion of the shaft 3! adjacent its top end of non-circular cross-sectional contour projecting through correspondingly shaped openings in the hub portion of the propeller blades 34 and 35. In order to prevent leakage of the mixture in the chamber through the opening in the hub 30 for the shaft 4|, I provide the following means:
The shaft 4| is provided with an enlarged diameter area 36 fitted into a correspondingly enlarged opening in the upper end'of the hub 30. A suit- I able packing member 31 surrounding the shaft 4| is seated on the shoulder formed by the openings for the shaft portion 36. A cap member 38 ,may be threadedly received on the portion 3| and another packing 39 similar to the packing 3! surrounds that portion of the shaft adjacent the 3 top of the shaft portion 36.
Any suitable well known means may be em- 3 actuate the blades 34 and 35, such as for example, any standard type of electric motor which may be contained in the base (not shown).
As shown in Fig. 3 the leading edges 34:; and 35a of the propellers 34 and 35 respectively are sharpened to present a knife edge so that when the said blades are rotated at a desired speed in a clockwise direction as viewed from Fig. 3 the fat globules in the mixture will be cut more readily and :thus facilitate the emulsifying action.
To further facilitate and speed up the emulsifying action of the mixture in the chamber l], I have provided the inner wall I20, surrounding the chamber ll with a plurality of sharp-pointed projections 40. These projections as best shown in Fig. 5 may be made in any suitable way and serve to cut and break up the fat globules by; the action of the propeller blades 34 and 35 rotating at great speed so as to throw the liquid-mixture up against the walls rupturing the fat globules thereby. It is thus seen that from the above described:
