In a Stoker, al ram box adapted to receive fue1; a plura1ity of aTnS disp0sed in Side-byside relation in the ran1 box for 10ngitudina1 recipr0 Catory n10venent therein to feed fuel rearwardly therefr0ln; a plurality of Spill plates disposed rearwardly of the ranls and adapted t0 have fue] pushed rearwardly thereover by said ranls, said spill plates having transversey-extending rear discharge edges fron1 vvhich fuel is adapted to be gravitationally discharged; a fue i1pelle! positioned beneath the rear discharge edges of the spill plates for rotation about a horizonta1 transverSelyextending axis and adapted to ilnpel fuel rearwardly as it is gravitationaly discharged fron1 the Spj11 plates therabove; and nleans fol' in1parting reciprocatory Inotion to the ran1s and to the spill plates, With reciprocation of the latter out- 0f-phase With recipr0cation of the forlner the lastn1entioned Ineans including a' p0Wer-0per ated shaf and a driving connection therefrom to the ran1s and to the spill p]2ttes, Said driving con nection including1inkage producing out0f-phase 8 movement of one spi11 plate with respect to an- 0ther 6.
