Referring to the drawings by characters of reference, the golf ball driving device includes a supporting structure or housing consisting of upper and lower tubular sections I and II arranged in vertical alignment and disposed above and below an intermediate section or casing I3 having parallel top and bottom walls Il and I5 to which the upper and lower sections I0 and Il are secured by studs I6 extending through the flanged ends thereof. The rack 2,9 is arranged in engagement with a gear 32 aiXed to a shaft 33 journaled in bearing bosses 34 formed on the opposite side walls of the intermediate section or casing I3. The inner end of the arm 21 is secured by studs 35 to the outer end of the shaft 33 which protrudes through an opening in the side wall 36 of the intermediate section or casing I3.

Secured to the base I8 in offset relation thereto is a golf ball supporting member 31 having a bifurcated forward end and a iball receiving depression 38 in the upper face thereof for supportingY a golf ball in the path of travel of the strikingihead 28 of the arm 21, the longitudinal edges 39 formed by the furcations and extendingforwardly from the depression 38 functioning to guide and accurately direct the bail after it is hit by the driving head 28. The golf ball supporting member 31 is secured tothe forward end of a leaf spring 40 the opposite end of which is adjustably secured to a laterally extending bar 4| by means of a wing nutY 42, the bar 4| being adjustably secured to the-base I8 by a Wingv nut 43. In use and operation the operator is posi- ,i tioned at the rearhof the supporting structure with the right foot disposed upon the rear of the base I8 for assisting in steadying the device whilerthe left hand of the operator grasps the handle 20 for holdingfr the supporting structure in an. upright position the operator first having adjusted the supporting member 31 in the direction that the ball is to travel, and hav- .ing arranged the striking head 28 as desired.
