l1 Claim. (Cl. 1515) The present invention relates to new and useiul improvements in devices for cleaning dust rags and other cloth articles by suction means adapted to draw loose dirt and the like from the articles and the invention has for its primary object to provide a receptacle within which the force will be created by the fan 8 to draw air from article may be placed and subjecting the article when in the receptacle to the action of a suction device for drawing dust, dirt and other loose particles from the article.
An important object of the present invention is to provide a cleaning device of this character equipped with a motor driven fan to produce the desired suction,v or which may be attached to a conventional form of vacuum cleaner for supplying the necessary suction within the con-l Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view taken subl stantially on a line I-I v'of Fig. 2, and
Figure 2 is a transverse sectional -view taken substantially on a line 2-2 of Figure 1.
Referring now to the drawings in detail wherein for the purpose of illustration I have disclosed a preferred embodiment of the invention, the numeral 5 designates a base having an annular fan housing 8 secured thereto, the fan housing having an electric motor 'I attached to its bottom wall and to which a suction fan 8 is operatively attached and, positioned in the housing 6.
The top wall of the fan housing is formed with a centralopening 9 and secured to the top of the fan housing isv a container I Il including a continuous outer wall II and a continuous inner wall I2 integrally connected at their upper edges.
The top of the container is open and the inner.
wall I2 is spaced from the outer wall II and the innersurface of the inner wall I2 is formed with shallow recesses I3 having openings I4 formed therein. arranged about the inner surface of said wall form a basket-like receptacle for the reception Upon the operation of the motor 1 a suction- I'he inner wall I2 and the recesses I3 the containerl III- through the opening 9 and into the bag I6. Accordingly, by placing a dust cloth or other cloth article or garment I1 within the basket-like receptacle the suction lforce thus createdby the fan 8 will draw dust, dirt and other loose particles from the article Il through the openings I4 and thus discharge the same into the- If desired, the motor 1 and 4ian 8 may be eliminated and a suction hose of a, conventional f orm of vacuum cleaner (not shown) may be attached to the neck I5 to create the` necessary suction in the container I0.
It is believed that the details of construction and manner of use of the device will be readily understood from the foregoing without further detailed explanation.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim is: f l
In a device for removing dust from fabric and the like, a base, a housing provided with an opening in its top wall thereof mounted upon said base, a fanmounted for rotation in' saidhousing, a container having an open bottom mounted upon the top wall of said housing and secured to the latter, the open bottom of said container being in communication with the opening in the top wall of said housing, said container embodying a continuous outer wall and a continuous inner wall arranged within said outer wall and spaced from the latter, the inner wall being provided with cup-shaped recesses arranged about the inner surface thereof, there being an opening in each of. said recesses, the inner wall and cupshapedrecesses forming a basketlike receptacle for the reception of a dust-containing-fabrlc therein, a. ydust collecting bag connected to a side of said housing and in communication with the latter, and means for actuating said fan.
