I have not illustrated the details of the lock but have indicated a tumbler type of lock at 36.
When the lock bolt is adjusted to the position shown by full lines in Fig. 1, the latch lever'may be actuated by a pull thereof, the latch lever being grasped with the pull handle or grip. However, when the lock bolt is adjusted to the position indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 1, it constitutes a stop preventing the actuation of the latch lever.
At its outer end, the handle grip is provided with a projecting bolt 81 which projects through the supporting plate to be secured thereto by means of the nut 38.
I have illustrated and described my invention in a commercial embodiment thereof. I have not attempted to illustrate or describe certain modifications or adaptations as it is believed that this disclosure will enable. those skilled in the artto embody or adapt my invention as may be desired.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patcut, is:
1. The combination with a door comprising an outer panel, a reinforcing plate mounted on the inner side of said panel and having a laterally disposed arm at the outer end thereof, an inwardly projecting bracket on said plate, said panel and reinforcing plate having registering openings therein, an escutcheon arranged on the outer side of said panel, an outwardly bowed chambered handle grip having a longitudinal slot in its inner .side and having inwardly projecting arms at its inner and projecting through said openings, an attaching screw carried by said arm on said reinforcing plate in securing engagement with the inner end of said handle and 'clamping the same upon said escutcheon, said grip being provided-with attaching means at its outer end engaging said plate, a latch lever pivotally mounted within said grip to be retracted in said slot, a spring arranged within said grip to bias said latch lever to its initial position, a trigger notched at its inner end and pivotally mounted between said arms on said grip, said latch lever being provided with studs engaging said notch of said trigger whereby the trigger is actuated on the retracting of'the latch lever, a bolt lever pivotally mounted on said bracket in coacting relation to said trigger, and a bolt slidably supported on said bracket and pivotally connected to said bolt lever.
2. The combination with a door comprising an outer panel, a reinforcing plate mounted on the inner side of said panel, an inwardly projecting bracket on said plate, said panel and reinforcing plate having registering openings therein, an outwardly bowed chambered handle grip having a longitudinal slot in its inner side and having inwardly projecting arms at its inner end projecting through said openings, a latch lever pivotally mounted within said grip to be retracted in said slot, a spring arranged within said grip to bias said latch lever to its initial position, a trigger notched at its inner end and pivotally mounted between said arms on said grip, said latch lever being provided with studs engaging said notch of said trigger whereby th trigger is actuated on the retracting of the latch lever, a bolt lever pivotally mounted on said bracket in coacting relation to said trigger, and a bolt slidably supported on said bracket and pivotally connected to said bolt lever.
3. The combination with a door comprising an outer panel, a reinforcing plate mounted on the inner side of said panel and having a laterally disposed arm at the outer end thereof, an escutcheon arranged on the outer side of said panel, an outwardly bowed chambered handle grip having a longitudinal slot in its inner side and having inwardly projecting arms at its inner end, an attaching screw carried by said arm on said reinforcing plate in securing engagement with the inner end of said handle and clamping the same upon said escutcheon, said grip being provided with attaching means at its outer end engaging said slot, a latch lever arranged within said grip to be retracted in said slot, a spring arranged within said grip to yieldingly urge said latch lever to its initial position, and a bolt releasing trigger notched at its inner end and pivotally mounted between said arms on said grip,
said latch lever being provided with a lug engaging said notch of said trigger whereby the trigger is actuated on the retracting of the latch 'lever.
4. A door handle comprising in combination a supporting plate, an inwardly projecting bracket on said plate, a chambered pull grip having a longitudinal slot in its inner side, a latch lever pivotally mounted within said grip to be retractedin said slot, a spring acting, to bias said latch lever to its initial position, a trigger pivotally mounted on said grip, said latch lever being in direct operative engagement with said trigger whereby the trigger is actuated on the retracting of the latch lever, a bolt lever pivotally mounted on said bracket in coacting relation to said trigger, and a bolt slidably supported on said bracket and pivotally connected to said bolt lever.
5. A door handle comprising in combination a supporting plate, a chambered pull grip having a longitudinal slot in its inner side, a latch lever pivotally mounted within said grip to be retracted in said slot, a spring acting to bias said latch lever to its initial position, a trigger notched at .its inner end and pivotally mounted on said grip, said latch lever having a lug in direct operative engagement with the notch in said trigger whereby the trigger is actuated on the retracting of the latch lever, and a bolt lever pivotally mounted in coacting relation to said trigger.

In a door handle, the combination of a grip adapted to be mounted on a door to constitute a pull member and having a longitudinal slot in its inner side, a bracket connected to said grip, a latch release lever pivotally mounted on said grip to be retracted into the slot thereof, a spring arranged within said grip to coact with said release lever to return it to its initial position, and a bolt releasing trigger mounted on said bracket and having a notch in the inner end thereof, said release lever being provided with a lug engaging said notch whereby the trigger is actuated upon the actuation of the lever.
7. In a door handle, the combination of a grip adapted to be mounted on a door to constitute a pull member and having a longitudinal slot in its inner side, a bracket connected to said grip, a latch release lever pivotally mounted on said grip to be retracted into the slot thereof, a spring arranged within said grip to coast with said release lever to return it to its initial position, and a bolt releasing trigger mounted on said bracket and the actuation of the lever.
8. In a door handle, the combination of a grip adapted to be mounted on a door to constitute a pull member and having a longitudinal slot in its inner side, a latch release lever pivotally mounted on said grip to be retracted into the slot thereof, a spring biasing said release lever to its initial position, a bolt releasing trigger having a notch in the inner end thereof and pivotally mounted on said grip at a point spaced from the pivot of said lever, said release lever engaging said notch whereby the trigger is actuated upon the actuation of the lever, the pivot of said trigger constitutinga stop determining the initial position of said lever.
