The invention has for its chief object the provisionof a holder of the type referred to of simple design and rugged construction, adapted for attachment to any suitable support and in any convenient location, to which a towel or similar article can be securely attached in constant readiness for use, and from which the same is quickly releasable.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description of the same taken in conjunction with the annexed drawings. v

The invention comprises, briefly stated, a bracket to be secured to any convenient support which bracket carries ring-s of different sizes arranged to be positioned for easily and quickly securing and releasing a towel.

Figure 3 is a perspective view of the holder, illustrating the manner in which is is used.

Referring to the drawings in greater detail, I indicates a bracket formed preferably of one piece of metal, bent into the general form of a rectangular loop having rounded corners, and having the extended perforated portions 2 and 3 arranged in parallel relation.

In operation of the holder, as best seen in Figure 3, some portion of a towel II! or other similar article, preferably a corner ll of the same, is inserted in the holder. The end H of the article, such as the corner of a towel, is passed through the ring 8, then through the ring 9, looped about the latter and passed back again through the ring 8. As will be seen from an inspection of Figure 3 of the drawings, the weight of the towel .lii, or any pull exerted thereon, tends to draw the

8 and 9 together thus securely holding the towel in place. The operation of inserting the towel in the holder can be facilitated by first lifting the ring 8 from the bottom, so that it is brought to a position nearly in axial alignment with the ring 9, and then inserting the end of the towel through both rings, looping the same about ring 9, permitting the ring 8 to fall and passing the towel end back through the same.

It will be evident that a towel secured in the holder in the manner'described above, can thus be attached to a support in a convenient location to be constantly in readiness for use. Furthermore, should the holder be located in some position, such as beneath a counter or in any similar location lower than that in which the towel is normally used, an upward pull on the same will cause the bracket to rotate about the screw 4, thus permitting use of the towel without danger of its becoming released from the holder.

In order to quickly release the towel it is merely necessary to pull the ring 9 off of the portion of the bracket on which it normally rests, whereupon a slight pull on the towel will release the same from the rings.

The ring 9 in releasing position will thus be removed from the bracket l, but, being of somewhat smaller inside diameter than the outside diameter of the ring 8, will be retained by the latter and thus prevented from becoming separated from the holder.-

It will thus be apparent that the invention as described above constitutes a simple and ruggedly constructed holder, capable of withstanding the hard usage which such a device is likely to receive, and providing at all times a means for securely holding and quickly releasing towels or similar articles which it is desired to have constantly at hand for use.

It will, of course, be understood that the above described embodiment of the invention is intended for illustrative purposes only, and that various changes can be made in the structure of the same without departing from the spirit of 3 the invention or the scope of the claims.

Having thus clearly shown and described the invention, what is claimed and desired to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. In a device of the class described, a onepiece loop-shaped bracket, Iparallel portions on said bracket adapted to cooperate with securing means for pivotally securing said bracket to a support, parallel spaced-apart portions on said bracket adapted to support rings, and rings supported on said bracket.

2. in a device of the class described, a bracket, rings supported thereby, one of said rings being supported above the other of said rings, said rings cooperating with each other and with a portion of a towel-like article inserted therethrough to secure said article to said bracket.

3. In a device of the class described, a bracket, spaced-apart rings on said bracket, one of said rings supported at a level above the other of said rings, said one of said rings having an inside diameter smaller than the outside diameter of said other of said rings.

4. In a device of the class described, a loopshaped bracket, a ring supported inside said bracket, a ring supported outside said bracket, said outside ring being removable from said bracket, and being prevented by said inside ring from removal from said device.

5. In a device of the class described, a bracket having a loop, a ring inside said loop, a ring outappended 0 Number side said loop, said rings cooperating on said loop with a portion of a towel-like article to secure the same to said device, and upon removal of said outside ring from said bracket to release said towel-like article.

6. In a device of the class described, a bracket having a loop, a ring inside said loop, a ring outside said loop, said rings cooperable to secure a towel-like article to said bracket when a portion of said article is inserted through said rings, and to release said article when said outside ring is removed from said loop.

7. In a device of the class described, a bracket having a loop, a ring inside said loop, a ring outside said loop, said rings cooperable to secure a towel-like article to said bracket When a portion of said article is inserted through said rings, and to release said article when said outside ring is removed from said loop, said inside ring operative to prevent separation of said outside ring from said device.
