To fold the bed it is necessary first to remove thefront, then manually release the latches 63 :and hold them released until the pins of the mattress support are raised above the latches,

The braces 21 arebutted against these guides and the lower rail l5 of the Vback frame, and secured thereto.

For use, the straps -49 of the front are detached from` the pins- 53, the front is 'removed and the folding portions of the bedends are opened out. The mattress 61 and support are then swung forward anddownward about the pins-51 as centers, the upper rail 'H of the stop being guided against interference with the back' of the bed by the guides 85. The pins 15 projecting fromthe end rails H engage the beveled upper ends of the latches 63 as they near seating position, displace these latches and come to rest in supporting position in the notches El, the latches being re-V after which further folding is carried out.

I claim:

1. A folding bed including a back wall, foldable end walls, a detachable front, a mattress and a mattress support frame; said end walls each including a section rigidly attached to said back, and a section hinged to the forward edge of said rigidV section and inwardly .foldable into parallelism with said back, means respectively pivotally attaching the opposite ends of said mattress supportk frame intermediate its width to said xed enolV sections adjacent the forward edges of said sections, means respectively at opposite ends of saidframe adjacent its outer edge, and

complementary means carried by said folding sections engageable by said frame means, in open position of said folding sections, for supporting said frame in bed position, and means biased for latching engagement with said frame means in supported position.

2. `A folding bed including a back wall, foldable end walls, a detachable front, a mattress and a mattress support frame; said end walls each including a section rigidly attached to said back, and a section hinged to the forward edge of said rigid section and inwardly foldable into parallelism with said back, means respectively pivotally attaching the opposite ends of said mattress support frame intermediate its width to said xed end sections adjacent the forward edges of said sections, means respectively at opposite ends vof said frame adjacent itsouter edge, and complementary means carried by said folding sections engageable by said frame means, in open position of said folding sections, for supporting said frame in bed position.
