The construction otherwise is very similar to the embodiment of the invention already described. It includes a tank having a liner 4| of relatively heavy plate glass, an outer reinforcing shell 42 preferably of wood and a facing v43 of light sheet glass coveringthe inner-surface of the wood. The

The drain structure includes heavy glass base plates 46 and 41 superposed upon each otl'ier'a'nd disposed in openings 48 and 49 in the outer shell 42 and the plate 43. What we claim is:
1. In combination a container: for corrosive liquids including an irmerliningizof-plate glass,
an outer reinforcing shell spaced therefrom, the spacebetween the two being filledwith a corrosion-resistant packing material, said inner lining being formed witha drain opening and the reinforcing shell having an-openingfiof larger diameter registering with the drain opening, a drain structure including a glass-base plate contiguous to the lining about the opening. inthe lining and being. embedded in the-:packingmmaterial and carrying an outwardly-projecting dra'impipe and clamping meansnengagingxthe :base plate and being secured to the reinforcing shell by means of through bolts... i l v v I: ,2. A drain assembly for containers which containers have inner and outer walls, the space between being filled with an intermediate impervious packing and a drain opening in the inner wall, a larger registering opening in the outer wall, said assembly comprising two superposed base plates adapted to fit into the second opening and having openings therein adapted to register with the first opening, a cover plate having margins adapted to be bolted to the outer walls of said container, the 'cover plate having an opening formed therein coaxial with the openings in the base plates, 9. drain pipe projecting through the outer of the base plates, said pipe projecting in the openings in said cover plate.

A drain assemblyfor a container, which container comprises an inner glass wall, an outer re-' 1 inforcing wall spaced therefrom and an intermediate impervious packing of fusible plastic material between the walls, said inner wall having a drain opening formed therein, said outer wall having a. larger opening registering with the drain 5. space between the two being filled with a corrotheopening formed therein being of less diam eter than the opening in the outer plate, a drainpipe seated in the opening in the outer plate and bearing against the edge of the opening in the opening, said assembly including a pair of superposed glass base plates fitting into the latter opening and having registering openings formed therein, the outer of said base plates having the opening therein-inwardly flared, a glass drain-pipe having a base portion fitting the opening in the outer base plate and a cover plate adapted to fit over the opening in the outer wall and having an opening receiving the drain-pipe, said coverplate being adapted to be bolted to the outer wall.
8. A construction as defined in claim 6 in which the drain-pipe and cover plate are of metal and are welded together to provide a unitary assembly.
