My invention relates to a dispenser for packages, such as packages of cigarettes and the like,

and more particularly my invention relates to a combination of display and dispensing device adapted to attractively and fully display .mer-

chandise and make such merchandise available for ready dispensing. 1

It is the object of my invention to provide a new and novel display and dispensing device.

It is a further object of my invention t provide a novel dispensing and display device for a multiplicity of small packages such as cigarette packages.

It is a further object of my invention to provide a dispensing device readily accessible for quick dispensing without disarrangement of the display.

in Figure 1 I show the stand of my invention which comprises a suitable base Ill from which 1 and dispensing unit .20 is formed of transparent plastic sheet material which may be of any suitable resin, such as methyl methacrylate, or any other resin or cellulosic derivative that can be placed in this proper molded sheet form, or it is within the purview of my invention to employ any other transparent material includingglass.

A multiplicity of packages as of cigarettes may be inserted in thedisplay and dispensing unit 30 as will be seen in Figure 1 and these packages may be readily dispensed since the dispensers hand readily grasps the packagesthrough the slot between the opposed edges of extendingportions 2| and 22 of the unit 20. The slot, however, is entirely concealed with the packages in position, but greatly facilitates the loading and unloading of and dispensing of the cigarette packages positioned therein. I

By reason of the particular construction described, a space is also provided behind the dispensingunit 2B and between the side members I I and 12 for the storing of packages to be used in refilling the unit 2|]. The cigarette packages are very desirably displayed through the transparent display unit20 and at the sametime are properly, held in dispensing position, available for ready dispensing from the upper portionthereof assisted by the ready manipulation through the slot in the rear of the unit 20.

Various modifications of this invention will suggest themselves to those skilled in the art. Accordingly I desire thatin construing the breadth of the appended claims that they shall not be limited to the specific ,details shown and described in connection withthe above explanation.

1. A'display and dispensing stand comprising a base, two support members mounted and secured upon said base, a plastic display unit mounted and secured upon said support members, said display unit comprising in one piece a transparent front wall portion, two integral side portions and two integral rear portions, the total width of said rear portions being less than the width. of said front surface so as to provide a slot in the back;

2 A display anddispensing stand comprising a base, two support members mounted and secured upon said base, a plastic display unit mounted and secured upon said support members, said display unit comprising in one piece a transparent front portion, two integral side portions and two integral rear portions, the total width of said rear portions being less than the Width of said front said base, the rear portions of said display unit and said side wall members being so positioned with respect to one another as to form an enclosure for storing goods.
