, This invention relates to new and useful iin-- provements in metal cutters and more particularly to a device for cutting aluminum.
Heretofore, aluminum could never be cut cleanly. The usual operation was to melt aluminum and blow the melted aluminum with an oxyacetylene torch, which generally left a hall.' inch or more wide opening with extremely jagged edges.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide an implement whereby the metal can be heated to a soft state and draw a knife through this particular area to perform the Acutting operation.

Referring to the drawing wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can bo seen in Figure 1. that numeral 5 denotes a union to which gas lines B, 'l are connected and irom which extends a tube 8. Valves 9, i0 are provided in the usual Away for controlling the supply of gas tothe mixing union 5.
The tube l has a laterally disposed end portion Il terminating in a socket I2` for the recaption oi a threaded nipple I8 located on a head or box il into which mixed gases pass.
Numerals Il, I8 denote a pair of llame tips, the tip i5 being slightly longer than the tip I B and being the greatest removed from a cutter unit generally referred to by numeral Il.
The tips l5, Il have threaded portions i8 disposed into the box Il.
The box It has an extension at one end formed with a vertically disposed opening I2 into which isabarn formingpertoftheunit il.
This bar is held to the block i4 by a set screw 2|. The lower end of the bar 20 has an offset plate 22, defining a shoulder 23 against which can abut the upper end of an inverted L-shaped blade 24, the uppervportion of which is formed with openings 25, 26 to receive a stud bolt 21 and a retaining pin 28 on the offset plate 22.l
A nut 29 is provided on the stud bolt 2l to secure the blade in place against the oiset plate 2v2. Numeral 30 denotes the cutting edge of the blade 26 which is opposed to the location of the tips IE, i6. i
It can now be seen. that when the tips i5, I6 have been lighted and the cutter bar 2D properly adjusted, a sheet of aluminum can be heated to a soit state and by exerting a pull on the tube 8, the blade 3B can be drawn through the softened area of the metal, leaving a straight and clean cut.
While the foregoing speciiication sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
l. A metal cutting device comprising a supply l tube for indammable gas, a head structure at one end of the tube. a cutter unit including a cutting edge and a burner tip projecting from the head and adjacent the cutter unit.
2. A metal cutting device comprising a supply tube fox` inammable gas, a head structure at one end of the tube, a cutter unit including a cutting edge and a burner tip projecting from the head and adjacent the cutter unit, and a second burner tip at the opposite side of the mst-mentioned tip from the cutter unit and being somewhat longer than the first-mentioned burner tip.
3. A metal cutting device comprising a supply tube for inilammable gas, a head structure at one end of the tube,4 a cutter unit'including a cutting edge and a burner tip projecting from the head and adjacent the cutter unit, said cutter unit comprising an adjustable bar and a movable' blade on the bar having said cutting v ge.
