SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 231,760, dated August 31, 1880.
Application filed July 12,1880. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERICK L. CHIL- SON, of Hastings, Barry county, Michigan, have invented an Improvement in Three-Horse Equalizers, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to construct an evener by means of which three horses can be used abreast, and which will equalize the draft.
The invention consists in the peculiar construction, arrangement, and combination of the various parts, all as more fully hereinafter set forth.
In the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this specification, and in which my invention is shown in perspective, A represents an evener-loar, to which, and near the ends thereof, are pivotally secured the bifurcated levers B, the longer arms of which project inwardly and are bent outwardly, as shown, and have secured in them the hooks a, while longer hooks bare secured in their outer ends. Upon the hooks a is hooked a whiffletree, 0, and to the longer hooks b are hooked 25 the whiffletrees D.
By this construction and arrangement of parts I produce an equalizer that is inexpensive to manufacture and which is strong and effective in its operation.
What I claim as my invention is- In a three-horse equalizer, and in combination with the evener-bar A thereof, the bifurcated levers B, pivotally secured to the ends of said evener-bar, substantially as and for the 3 5 purposes set forth.
